Minimum operating balance of the account is £10, so you can't withdraw that last £10 without closing the account.

Yeah, not a fan of that. Somehow thought it was earlier which is why I asked.surreysaver said:
Don't think telling the Daily Mail counts for telling their customers! They've got six days to tell me, otherwise they're in breach of contract.afis1904 said:
I've found it now, Nat West has apparently told the Daily Mail they'll drop it to 1% on April 20thgeorge4064 said:
I also hold this account and haven't been notified of any interest rate change..surreysaver said:
Hadn't seen that was going down! Where did you hear that?afis1904 said:I know it's not technically a regular saver but does anyone know when the interest rate on the Nat West Savings builder is going to decrease to 1%?
Looks like the BoS and Lloyds 1% current accounts will be making a comeback

Yes, these rates are variable. If the rates are going down and your balance is £100 or more, we'll give you at least 14 days' notice. If the rates are going down and your balance is less than £100, we'll inform you before the change or shortly afterwards.

Yes, you can withdraw from, or close, YBS Regular Savers online because I've done it myself.schiff said:
Might as well let my April 1st SOs go ahead. Withdrawal restrictions are lifted till 20/5/20 and after that accounts can be closed without loss of interest etc.veryintrigued said:
My last maturity withdrawal was done at the branch office. As these are pass-book accounts I wonder if there will be a facility to withdraw/close online.1 -
So have I and when I logged back in later the interest added on closing was showing. Decided not to ring them or secure message as they will be tied up with more important questions"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Probably dropped off as rate wef from today is just 1.4%, (https://smartsavebank.co.uk/1-year-fixed-rate-saver/) so no longer a "top buy".fryco said:On 18 March MSE mentioned SMARTSAVE as a possible place to invest for fixed term at +1.5%.
Having opened an account, yesterday I moved a large deposit from my current account.to new SMARTSAVE account. On trying to confirm safe arrival of funds I am unable to log on,or contact SMARTSAVE.
I now notice this company has disappeared from MSE latest recommendations.
Has anyone else any experience/knowledge of this issue please?
Really hoping I'm worrying for nothing............

I would probably just keep trying to log in.2 -
I think I will close mine as the rate (issue 2) has basically halved, you can get that rate in an easy access, and I need the money anyway. Whether the base rates will increase again by the time the account matures, or if YBS think they can afford to increase the rates again - take your pick!surreysaver said:
I wonder if its worth keeping them open in case interest rates go back up?apt said:Swingeing further cuts on YBS monthly savers. Issue 2 now 1.30% others 1%.
This is a shame, I'd have put up with 2%. But another 0.7% off for a 0.15% base rate cut? Swingeing is definitely the right word for it.

My YBS issue 2 matures next week anyway, but I will close my issue 3 on the 20th as I’m getting more than 1% in the feeder account that I use to fund it!

That's my YBS issue 3 closing on April 20. 1% in a Regular Saver is an insult.5
