Principality issue 22 interest rate is down to 1.25%, I assume in readiness for their new Christmas saver  :/

For new subscribers though. 22 was originally fixed rate.

Yes for new subscribers, that is how fixed rate regular savers work, which I am sure everyone on here is aware.
That's too patronising for a Sunday

It’s not only patronising it’s also, as has been stated, incorrect. It’s much more usual to change the number when a new rate is introduced, just as this one has done.

On the Sunday theme, Principality paid out my RS19 today on time on a Sunday unlike some RS`s eg First Direct taking 2 or 3  working days. However 3 memorable questions and answers as part of their new security had me thinking! especially questions like your "first teacher`s name" - too long ago for my memory!  and "first pet" - ok but mine had a name of four letters  - no good must be 7 characters! and "city where mother or father lives" - they are long gone and they were country folk!

I never use real information on those memorable questions - otherwise people who know about my life and connections might be able to guess them. The questions are often the same at various institutions, so I just have a list of made up answers that I use everywhere, and that is in my password manager so I, or my attorneys and heirs, can look it up if required. For example, the name of my first pet could be Rover (not the name I use), my first teacher Mrs Marple (not my first teacher, or the name I use), the street I grew up on Royal Gardens (yep, not where I grew up, and not the street I use), and my memorable place is MemPlace (which is not what I use). The main thing is that you can remember what you registered with.

You don't think that was made seriously, do you. Altogether different.

I'd hope that most people do something like that - or more.  Some simple algorithms held in your head means a physical crib sheet is just about indecipherable. As regards wills etc. - they'll be sorted out by the administrator.
This issue first arose for me, when Halifax introduced the Direct Saver in the early 1990s.  The staff would not accept that my mother's maiden name was Giraffe - nor could I persuade them that anyone could get access to my mother's real maiden name.  I called the chief Exec, told him how unimaginative his organisation was - and he acted and reported back next day.
Could you do that now - get through to the organ grinder instead of his monkey, I mean?
James Crosby, btw. By the time he finished with my shares in the Halifax my organs felt well and truly ground. ...  :o

You'll only know if and when the MSE police feel your collar - but I think that many females might regard it as patronising - and take offence.  Hardly diplomatic - and only five minutes between your two posts....
