Thank you @Bridlington1 for all the amazing and tireless work you do on this and other forums. Many of us would be poorer if it weren't for your diligence and the kindness that you show to everyone on these forums. I thought I was pretty switched on financially, but I have learned a lot from you, so thank you for all that you doBridlington1 said:...lots of brilliants things
Yes, well said, and I couldn't agree more.Bridlington1, I greatly appreciate what you do and the enormous amount of effort you put into it. I have benefited in many ways thanks to your endeavours. If there is a way to send you a thank you Xmas present, I'd be happy to do so.4 -
Seems pretty random when the invites go out.bigjoe said:
I opened a Zopa Account and put moey into the Smart Savings Hub on 25/11.Horracce said:Can anyone give me an idea of timescale between going on Zopa waiting list for bank account and then being able to open a regular saver with them ?
Do I need a certain amount in it to be offered a current account or is it just a waiting game for an invite?
The current account has its own thread

I understand your annoyance but is it not worth considering getting a passport just for Id purposes? It's the equivalent of £8.80 a year for a universally(-ish) accepted identification document.MichaelAP said:
Snap….. I am classed as 80% disabled. Not allowed a driving license and do not own a passport as travelling would be a logistical nightmare. Sometimes these requirements leaves you a feeling of being singled out…. A form of discrimination.dgpur said:Finally got the invite to open a Zopa current account (to get their RS offering of course). and they require photo ID. There are millions of people in the UK who lack photo ID (very often disabled, as I am). So frustrating.I agree! For peace of mind, even though its almost impossible for me to travel, I renewed my passport as it was logical for me to have a solid form of ID and at £8.50 a year, it was a worth while investment. Yearly Medical Driving Licenses can be so precarious, especially if forms also have to be coompleted by others before the MB considers a new license. Plus, when there's less than 3 months left on the DL, it's usually not accepted as proof of ID, and we all know Sod's Law

Principality monthly payment returned, anyone the same !?? Any reason ???
6months rs £200
Xmas 2025 rs £1250 -
Regarding the 6 Month RS they state in the Ts&Cs that the maximum balance of the account is £1.2k so if you opened it when it was first launched and fully funded it to that point this month would take you over that and any payments would be returned.Pkman said:Principality monthly payment returned, anyone the same !?? Yep I made this mistake, they promptly returned my £200, and also sent me a letter in the post (which felt like a waste of money, when an email could have been sent).Bridlington1 said:

I've currently got 9 regular savers with Principality BS and depending what rate their 6 Month RS Issue 2 shall be I may choose to make it a nice round 10 before too long.5
