Still possible to close then immediately reopen Skipton Member Regular Saver?
If you mean close a matured account and open a new one, Yes. My issue 2 matured yesterday. My Maturity instructions were to transfer the funds to my other Skipton account. I’ve just used the app to check that’s happened, open Issue 3 and make the first payment by transfer from that other account.
No, sorry. In the past the account can be closed mid-term and immediately reopened at same rate with a new maturity date.

I've just closed the RS2 and opened a RS3 within minutes. Good to get the maturity date move further along the year.

I am unable to close my existing account as "Withdraw all funds and close account" is greyed out. Is there a trick I am missing?
You need to set up your nominated account via online login menu.

This account offers a solid 4.8% gross p.a. interest rate, calculated daily and paid annually, which is a great option for those looking to save over the next 36 months. There are no penalties for missing payments, and you can make penalty-free withdrawals with 60 days' notice, or incur a 60-day interest penalty for immediate access. It’s also a bonus that you can qualify for a £500 Celebratory Bonus if you meet certain conditions, like being a first-time buyer. Overall, a good choice for those who can commit to the terms and want a long-term saving plan.
    Which account?
Look at their other posts... Can have chips & beans with them 😜

I can confirm that our Regular Saver account does only allow 12 payments of £300.00, and this has always applied. There are no IT errors and no changes to our Regular Saver policy. Apologies for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.
i'm unsure that's true, but hey ho... though these are the same people who categorically told me 12 months ago that the RS must be funded by external account and not via internal transfers.

Your comment to their reply perfectly sums up why I asked forumites to confirm that their 13th external payment had bounced!  Like you, I suspected that I had received confusing (conflicting!) replies from Gatehouse in the past. I tried to make my 13th payment by internal transfer and I had a slight suspicion that that may have been the reason that my 13th payment had failed. My suspicion was wrong, forumite replies confirmed that internal and external 13th payments all bounced. I have not been tempted to complain or further fuel the "compensation culture" debate!

My nominated account has been set up on the RS for a few months already

EDIT: Figured it out. I can only close it in the app, not in online banking. All done now.

I sent them an email a few days ago, not a complaint as such, but an enquiry about my £300 that hadn't been returned and to say the terms didnt state any max balance as such.
    This was their response today.....

Thank you for your email of 2 November, my sincerest apologies for the delay of response.

Please be advised the terms state the Regular Saver account is a 12 month account and the month of maturity would be classed as the 13th month and therefore no deposit is accepted.

I do apologise that the terms and conditions do not explicitly state that the maximum balance is £3600.00, this is under review.

I'm not convinced that the terms state that the month of maturity is the 13th month.
It feels like they are trying to enforce terms that are not stated, and hence are unenforceable. IMHO, irrespective of compensation, Gatehouse should be allowing a 13th payment and those payments that were rejected should be allowed and account holders put back in the position they would have been had the 13th payment been accepted.

Just opened a market harborough fixed term account and had a look at what other accounts i could apply for,
in the apply for menu was the fixed 6% regular saver so i applied online and it let me have it even though on the first page of this thread it said branch only.
it also said you can have two reg savers with a max of £3750 between the two,so could i apply for another one and deposit £250 a month into each until i have £3750.

    Thanks

How did you manage that, there is no online application link?
They've made the application link rather easy to guess and the link still seems to be live:
