Thanks. Tried this numerous times today but to no avail. Keeps saying try again. Probably give it another tomorrow.ni_saver said:
When logged into Principality I'm pretty sure there isn't an option anywhere to open a new account, unlike most other building societies I have accounts with. You need to find the account you want to open via their main website, then once you've ticked the box saying you've read the t&cs and click apply you can then click that you're an existing customer. It then prompts you to login. I also opened a new account with them today.sheffieldeagle said:

I've tried looking for this but I've given up. Can anyone tell me if there is an issue when trying to open an new account with Principality as an existing customer. I'm sure this has been mentioned on this thread.

Perhaps it is really saying you can't apply as you already have that account or are not eligible for some other reason1 -
Are you using any ad-blockers by any chance?sheffieldeagle said:Hi

I've found these sometimes cause issues with bank/building society technical systems, including Principality BS going into a doom loop where it wouldn't let me apply for savings accounts at one point among others, which was resolved as soon as I turned off the ad-blocker.2 -
Principality website has been awful past few days so could be their fault.1

Yes I think your right. Went on this morning and all went through without a hitch.jameseonline said:Principality website has been awful past few days so could be their fault.
Thanks everyone just a little patience required in the end.

For anyone who may be interested, Coventry BS sent a letter today about my First Home Saver maturing this month. Upon maturity it will become a First Home Access account, an easy access account that lasts for 24 months paying 2.85% AER variable. Whilst they do supply all the terms and conditions for the account with the letter I'm not going to bother posting it as I suspect no one will be interested in it with that rate of interest.
Strangely I cannot find any information about the First Home Access account on the Coventry BS website.1 -

First Home Access account does not appear on their website as it is only available to customers with a maturing First Home Saver

Anyone else having trouble opening a new TSB Monthly Saver?
My previous Monthly Saver turned into an Easy Saver and had interest credited yesterday. I tried opening a new one but was told I’m not eligible. Decided to wait 24 hours.
Tried again today and I am still being told I’m not eligible. I may just need to wait a bit longer, but figured I’d ask in case anyone has any knowledge on the issue.0 -
Mine matured yesterday. Waited for the web site issues to be resolved. Transferred the balance into my TSB current a/c. Then transferred the balance into another bank a/c. Then opened a new monthly saver......all done before 4pm yesterday.
Now I think about it, I couldn't open the new monthly saver whilst logged on to TSB. So, I logged out, went to the TSB web site, opened the monthly saver page and applied for an account. It prompts you to log in if you are already a member. Perhaps you could try using that process ?2 -
OPened my new one same day. No probs0

Same here. I started the application process in the app, got transferred to their website and had the account opened and visible in the app within 60 seconds.castle96 said:OPened my new one same day. No probsOnly niggle I had was that I could not make my initial deposit through an internal transfer from my TSB current account, but a Faster Payment from a non-TSB account worked fine.
I can’t think of a reason why it shouldn’t be possible to open a new RS once the old one has matured. Apart, that is, this is TSB……a case for their CS if it doesn’t work for you, I suppose0
