30 days notice is the time you have to apply to them before you can withdraw savings -nothing to do with them giving notice about savings rates.Taken from YBS General T+C Savings Accounts 11.1 " (i) if the change is to your disadvantage not less than 30 days before it takes effect by personal notice. ........"PDF File is called " 30 day Notice Rate ( should say change) 11 03 20" when opened there is a rate change leaflet in respect of all available and not available accounts showing old rates as of 11 March 2020 and new rates as of 5 April 2020
I have sent a secure message to YBS asking why the rate is being reduced from 5th April 2020 rather than 30 days from the date of notification i.e 18th March 2020 as we were not aware of their leaflet until the email.bristolleedsfan said:typistretired said:

BristolLeedsfan has never even mentioned this account, so it's not him who's getting confused. If you are replying to somebody else's post, then maybe quote them?typistretired said:The 30 days notice account is a different account to regular saver 3 it just happens to be listed after the regular saver 3 on the leaflet.

Letter from Chorley BS today
I am delighted to inform you of a change in the way your Regular Saver account will mature in June. Following member feedback we are now able to offer alternatives to receiving a cheque for the account balance.
The options available are;
The maturing funds (plus interest accrued) can be transferred to your personal bank account after the account matures at the close of business on the 30th June 2020. The funds should be available in your account within 4 working days.
or
The maturing funds (plus interest accrued) can be transferred into an easy access Chorleian account.

The interest rate change terms are in 11.1 (c) (i) which state they only need to give 14 days. The 30 days is for terms and conditions changes. It’s probably just about in time if 14 daysbristolleedsfan said:

I've just received an email about the rate change following the base rate reduction on the 11th March. Ironically it doesn't mention yesterdays base rate reduction!glider3560 said:How have you all been informed of the YBS interest rate change? I've had no emails or letters.
"On 11 March it was announced that the Bank of England base rate had been reduced from 0.75% to 0.25%, which means that we’ll be reducing the interest rates on our variable savings accounts by up to 0.50% on 5 April."1 -
I feel blessed that I am currently able to pump £4500 a month into RSs paying 2% to 5% FIXED. As maturities occur things will change but in 12 months time today will seem like the end of an era.
