In case it’s useful, since passwords are a current topic, those using iOS (iPhone, iPad) can now upgrade to iOS 18. The Passwords App becomes a standalone app on your screen, which saves looking for it in Settings. I use the Passwords notes box for that specific password to record any additional data I need to log in. NS&I number is an example. The fact the app requires fingerprint login makes it more secure than a notebook. Though I’m more concerned about mislaying any notebook in drifts of paperwork than I am of someone stealing it.

Or for a cross-platform experience Bitwarden is free and good. But this is definitely way off topic now.

Screenshotted them too so I can answer should I forget.

You should be able to choose from a list or set your own question and answer.

Also dumb is no caps or special characters, goes against everything I'm used to with setting up online accounts tbh.

And no spaces and character limit rules out so many people's favourite films and cars.

I don't really get how this has generated so much discussion, it's a bit clunky but it's not a usability disaster.

Agree. I found it very straightforward. Answered all 3 with honest answers that I'll remember as they're true. Couldn't be simpler tbh.

Treat the "memorable questions/answers" like any other password - use your password manager to generate random character strings (within the rules) and store them as notes. So "Mother's Maiden Name?" = "%6DwP*q#4".

Have fun figuring out the Xth, Yth and Zth characters from a password like that each time.

Totally unnecessary level of obscurity for secondary security info, IMHO.

1Password, for example, has a toggle to show a password in "Large Text", which puts a number under each letter, which makes it quite easy.

Not really necessary to make it so complex character set though, a couple of random words is ok for additional security questions

Not for me, way way too complicated.

Simply answered the questions truthfully and with answers nobody but me would know. 

As I say it was as simple as could be.

Possibly because they'll using them for telephone security too.

I telephoned MHBS 3 times and wasn't asked any ridiculous questions, just the usual security questions - name, address, DoB... I didn't know my account number yet, and even that didn't prompt them to ask me who my hero is.

You will require them when you login

No cars or heroes required for login. Just need your ID typed (copy/paste don't work), password and they send you passcode in text message.

Right click and paste may not work but "shift + insert" does.

In my experience, payments to Principality are normally credited on the same working day or the next day if sent in the evening but that may not happen at the weekends so my guess is that if you've sent that today, the payment will be rejected and returned to you on Monday, although there's a chance you may not receive it until Tuesday depending on when it gets processed on Monday.

Actually got the £50 refunded on Sunday which is very helpful. I'm a Barclays customer so maybe that's why.
