Not really. Just use the first 10 chars, omitting any spaces.s71hj said:

Still didn't work for me but did it OK on my laptop. The maddest set of security questions I've ever seen. I have no hero, no favourite car and favourite film is too many characters and has a space, as 2 words. Just had to make random stuff up and write it down!Digital_Payback said:Same happened me.Turn your phone sideways to landscape mode.It then works. Apply button on right hand side.

Screenshotted them too so I can answer should I forget.
You should be able to choose from a list or set your own question and answer.
Also dumb is no caps or special characters, goes against everything I'm used to with setting up online accounts tbh.
I don't really get how this has generated so much discussion, it's a bit clunky but it's not a usability disaster.2 -

I telephoned MHBS 3 times and wasn't asked any ridiculous questions, just the usual security questions - name, address, DoB... I didn't know my account number yet, and even that didn't prompt them to ask me who my hero is.masonic said:
Possibly because they'll using them for telephone security too.jameseonline said:Also dumb is no caps or special characters, goes against everything I'm used to with setting up online accounts tbh.0 -
I have not been asked for the security answers when logging into to MHBS - just the customer number/password + a 2FA(SMS) code.35har1old said:

Recent post would suggest other wise.jaypers said:
The underworld would have a field day if that was the case. Banks know exactly where every payment comes from, including full account details, BIC, name etc. They don’t necessarily do much with this information unless required but everything is recorded.Banks don;t know where the money is coming from, they don't match a receiving name against sending name, lots of payments come from third parties too such as DSS, your salary etc. So a payment from Mr A Smith to Mrs B Jones is not going to be stopped initially
Bank was asked where a bank giro credit was coming from and couldn't provide a answer0 -
Market Harborough have now updated the Fixed Term Regular Saver (30.11.2025) product page with a maximum balance of £3,750, as they informed another poster they would be doing. They haven’t removed the reference to the 24th but their bullet point list of the product features states annual interest paid on maturity, and they advise that COP will not work for 24 hours. I cannot recall seeing these before.

Agree. I found it very straightforward. Answered all 3 with honest answers that I'll remember as they're true. Couldn't be simpler tbh.WillPS said:

Treat the "memorable questions/answers" like any other password - use your password manager to generate random character strings (within the rules) and store them as notes. So "Mother's Maiden Name?" = "%6DwP*q#4".[Deleted User] said:

No cars or heroes required for login. Just need your ID typed (copy/paste don't work), password and they send you passcode in text message.35har1old said:

Have fun figuring out the Xth, Yth and Zth characters from a password like that each time.flaneurs_lobster said:

Totally unnecessary level of obscurity for secondary security info, IMHO.1
