Got my money out of Nationwide and into Santander but can't seem to move it internally into the savings account I want it in, meh.

Also it seems I'm too early to apply for the Nationwide Flex Issue 3.
I've closed the regular saver but the money has not yet arrived into my Santander account. I'm hoping it will be there in the morning
Money was not in my Santander account this morning. I sent it via my nominated account - I wish I had sent a test payment first. Apparently, according to Nationwide, Santander have rejected it due to a mismatch in the name, although Santander cannot find the rejected payment. It left Nationwide with my first and second name but Nationwide can see the rejection as only showing my surname! Santander asked me to get the faster payment reference, but when I did and rang them back, they said it was too early to see it on their systems.

Nationwide cannot do a recall until Monday. I have used the same nominated account before. I've just now amended it to show my full name including middle name, and sent a £1 from Santander to my flex account and returned it via my nominated account without a problem.

Not saying NW will pay a loyalty £100 next year, what with the takeover of VM.

But as well as a current account a savings account is also needed.
With a minimum of £100 in savings IIRC.

If you have a Flex plus account, that qualifies you automatically.

Whilst that was the case in 2023 and 2024, there's no guarantee this'll be the case in 2025.

The eligibility criteria for the 2025 fairer share payment are yet to be decided, if they make little in the way of profits and lots of people have used their accounts in a way that makes them meet last year's terms Nationwide may choose to raise the minimum to above £100 and/or add more restrictions on eligibility.

I'd take the 2023 and 2024 terms as a rough guide of what I'd expect the terms to be for 2025 but with a big pinch of salt.

    1. Not true, you still needed £100 in savings or mortgage
    2. As @Bridlington1 correctly points out there's no guarantee that the terms will remain static, or even that there will be further payments.

Ok, seem to remember there was some advantage in having a Flex Plus account.

I believe it was that there didn’t need to have been a regular amount paid into the current account over the specified period.

I don’t plan to open the Issue 3 at the moment, as I’m trying only to open accounts that I will make decent use of over the term. 2 YBS, 3 Principality, 1 CBS and 1 Halifax account(s) have hardly been used at all. If it were fixed I’d probably go for it, but I have £350/month capacity at more than 6.5% once the Principality 6 Month goes and will prioritise NatWest (no end date), Coventry Sunny Days (prize draw) and Melton after that. It’s 0.5% lower than Nationwide but lasts for 2 and a bit years and I’ve also got 6% at Monmouthshire with a higher deposit limit.

I will leave £100 in the highest paying savings account I have with them and add spare change to it, as I do like not having odd figures in my accounts.

Right now, none of us know what the qualification criteria would be if Nationwide would offer a loyalty bonus next year. I doubt even Nationwide know at this stage.

Taking out a 6.5% RS does, IMO, make sense regardless of whether there will be a loyalty scheme next year, even for people who aren't able to fund the account with the max £200/mth.

Especially because you can have up to 3 withdrawals before they reduce the rate. The Flex regular saver issue 2 was also variable but they chose to open issue 3 with lower rate rather than reduce rate of issue 2. If we are lucky they will do the same with issue 3, if not there is no penalty in withdrawing money and putting it into higher rate savings.

I've got 5 accounts with YBS and 4 of them have odd amounts, it does strangely annoy me!
