Unless you renew the account into an EA account, which can be done online without penalty. From there you can close the account in online banking.masonic said:Issue with Halifax early closure is that it requires a branch visit IIRC.1 -
Back in July I tried to renew mine to EA, both via app and online, but the option wasn't there. I've successfully done it for Lloyds in the past, but not Halifax.Bridlington1 said:

The £200 doesn't have to be paid in one go.[Deleted User] said:

Thankyou. I did look at the t&c before asking, it did look that way but I wasn't certain. Many thanks.Bridlington1 said:

I don't know why you wouldn't put £200 in in 1 go if you've just opened it to be honest, the quicker you put money in the more interest you'll get.
If by next week you mean tomorrow just open it tomorrow or something if you don't think they will get rid of the account, otherwise open it now & fund it and wait till October 1st till your next payment.
I don't think you can do more than 1 payment a month, I opened mine with £200 today it's been credited with tomorrow's date.
Interestingly is you have 1 month from time of opening to fund the account before they will close it.
