Advice I've always seen is wait until maturity before doing anything, it's a qwerk of YBS's system but it causes trouble if you try to withdraw the interest before the term is complete (even though they show it as there for you).

Agreed.
Mine matures tomorrow, however, I have seen many posts on this thread, and others, where an "interest adjustment" has been made from the published figure, as YBS calculate, and add, the interest to the end of the product term, early.
Of course, if the money is withdrawn even a day early, the interest figure on the transaction feed will no longer be accurate.1 -
I had an "interest adjustment" , on an account I do not remember if it was YBS.The interest is in the account, but the account is not closed until 23.59pm as such.SO if closed you owe 1 days interest back.£246.45 showing on mine.0

I couldn't do a couple of the £500s, did 2 x £100.
£223 is still ok though.0 -
Hardly used the account as the Monmouthshire Regular offered the same rate with unlimited withdrawals, and paid into some 6%+ fixes first as I didn’t expect 7% to hold through the term. £3.08, what will I spend all that on?
I had read of the YBS adjustment here before. Would we be OK to withdraw tomorrow (mine says matures in one day) or is the quirk such that savers ought to wait until Friday?
EDIT: Monmouthshire Issue 2 maturity pack just arrived. Nothing exciting except a prepaid envelope. I had initially thought I’d get the Exclusive Issue 2 with these proceeds but now glad that I changed my mind and applied as it was reported NLA a few days ago. Letter dated 13th September for a 2nd October maturity.

If you don't withdraw until Friday, you won't get the money until Monday (next working day) if it is going to an external account. You could close tomorrow.Kim_13 said:Hardly used the account as the Monmouthshire Regular offered the same rate with unlimited withdrawals, and paid into some 6%+ fixes first as I didn’t expect 7% to hold through the term. £3.08, what will I spend all that on?

Wait for the product name to change, then you'll know it's matured. If it's changed tomorrow, you should be able to close or draw down the account without any issue.

Got the same pack through the post with Monmouthshire. Can you provide maturity options online so when it matures on the 2nd October it gets moved away the same day?Kim_13 said:Hardly used the account as the Monmouthshire Regular offered the same rate with unlimited withdrawals, and paid into some 6%+ fixes first as I didn’t expect 7% to hold through the term. £3.08, what will I spend all that on?

There is a code to do this but I have not tried it, several forumites reported that their supplied code would not work. The delay with Monmouthshire seems to be that their online portal is slow to refresh, and does so once a day. I expect it will not show as an Easy Access until 3 October but they will pay to an external account on the same day as you request it. It’s late afternoon but it left enough time for me to utilise several Regular Savers’ August allowances when I received my funds from their Exclusive Regular Saver on the last working day. Another option would be to request closure on the day of maturity regardless of what the online portal says, since they don’t apply a penalty for closure.pecunianonolet said:

The account matures tomorrow, and interest has been added to the £6,500 balance (£248.59). So the 13 payment was not returned, but unsure if the extra £500 deposit attracted any interest.Middle_of_the_Road said:

I think some people complained a while ago, about Mon BS not applying interest properly to the 13th payment as the account had reached the deposit limit (12 monthly payments)?
I mistakenly made a 13th payment to the account yesterday.
As of now the balance is £6,500. I will report if/when they return the payment.0
