It's good info but I'm afraid @OneUser1 beat you to it 2 months ago.Dizzycap said:Progressive Building Society - 7% Variable 1 year Online Regular Rainy Day Saverhttps://theprogressive.com/savings/online-savings/online-regular-rainy-day-saver-account- A variable rate of interest for 1 year

Now that the vanguard has had some time to battle through the application process... Do you think it's worth it? I have an Ulster current account, so wondering if using that as the linked account would speed things up - not having all the bank sort codes added seems to be one of the stumbling blocks.Bridlington1 said:

The account pays 7% (I have to pull money out of accounts paying 5.6% to fund it), it was quick/easy enough to set up online and my nominated account was accepted immediately (I can't recall off the top of my head which one I used though, might've been Ulster).FIREmenow said:

Progressive Building Society - 7% Variable 1 year Online Regular Rainy Day Saver
Can anyone advise on the setup of the standing order please? I applied as soon as this became available and after a call with customer services eventually got set up and made the full July payment with my debit card. I want to set up the August & future payments as a SO from Lloyds but have tried without success:- Tried to setup new payee
- Ticked the yes I'm paying a business
- Payee Progressive Building Society
- Sort code & their 605... account number as supplied,
- It confirms a match for Progressive BS BUT gives me a message when I press to continue intending to set up the reference as my account number, that instead I MUST provide the account name NOT the building society!
Anyone else had similar issue?
Hope someone can help. Thanks.0 -
The reference should be 11 digits (the last one is a letter, at least in my case) that Progressive gave you. My donor bank (FD) said that the reference is incorrect, I ignored this and proceeded with the payment. The money arrived to Progressive, no problem.Snapdragon said:Progressive Building Society - 7% Variable 1 year Online Regular Rainy Day Saver

Same. It's likely that if you try and pay into the newly-opened account immediately, the Progressive's intermediary won't have received an updated account number list, so it's not recopgnised. Like @allegro120, I just ignored the error, made the payment and it showed up within an hour or so (when I next looked). If you wait overnight the problem probably doesn't occur.allegro120 said:The reference should be 11 digits (the last one is a letter, at least in my case) that Progressive gave you. Some reference numbers contain no letters, just 11 numbers.allegro120 said:
