Thanks to kaMelo and Bigwheels1111 .....  I gave it a go just now and worked within minutes online. I put the proceeds of the old RS into the Base Rate Tracker and funded the first £250 for the new RS from the BRT. Will do a manual payment on the 1st June and set up an appropriate SO from July 1st similar to the SO for the old RS. Thanks people  :)
I would wait until 3rd June before making your second payment into Skipton as deposits made into the account on non-working days are treated as having been made the next working day for interest purposes.
Their web chat team confirmed to me that a manual internal transfer from their BRT to RS would work on Saturdays, on the basis that they are open for business 9am - 12noon on Saturdays, and the transfer would reflect the 1st June date. I'm going to try it out tomorrow morning, will report back on here whether successful.
Gave it a try, errored out completely on web banking (i.e. wouldn't allow the "withdrawal" aspect at all on the Base Rate Tracker on a weekend). Transfer instruction would be allowed on app banking, but clearly stated it would go through on Monday 3rd June. Could use other funds to try a direct payment in from nominated account, but given @Bridlington1 's helpful research from the T&Cs, it seems a better bet to let the £250 earn the BRT rate for a couple of nights before reverting to the RS rate, i.e. complete the transfer instruction for it to go through Monday 3rd June.

FWIW, I got to the end of the application process (while logged on as an existing customer), and received just an application reference ("may contact you in the next few days"). So opening this account may not be immediate.

I recall some months ago it was not possible to transfer between Skipton accounts on a Saturday.
    This appears to be correct.

My RS matured yesterday but the funds were only visible today in another Skipton account. I have just opened a new RS with funds from that account. I chose today for the transfer but the next screen said “We can only complete transactions on working days, we will process your request on 03 June 2024.”

Make a manual payment today, I did 50 mins ago.
    From another bank.
    re:Skipton RS

    Thanks, this worked.

It’s crazy that an external deposit at the weekend is accepted but an internal transfer has to wait for the next working day.

Interest  of £29.20 has been credited to my Saffron 9% Loyalty Regular Saver dated 31/5.

Hopefully, they will open my new 8% Members Month Loyalty Saver later today.
The one that still isn't on their website?, hmm
Saffron BS Members Month Loyalty Saver at 8% now live:
    https://www.saffronbs.co.uk/savings/regular-savings-accounts/members-month-loyalty-saver

In addition it's worth noting the eligibility cut off date is now 1st June 2023, rather than 1st June 2022 as was stated in one of my earlier posts so it seems I was given incorrect information, all other details seem to be correct though. I'll find the offending post and amend it for accuracy shortly, apologies for the misinformation.

Great service from Saffron, as requested and following your lead, my 9% saver was turned into the 8% saver Today with £50 and the rest in my current account, on a Saturday!
    Retired 1st July 2021.
    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

I opened my first Saffron BS account on the 1st of June 23 (due to recommendation on the forum to do so, for possible future loyalty products); the Members' Month Loyalty Saver was showing when I logged in this morning, and account now opened successfully.

    Regarding the 8% Saffron RS:

I asked them to convert my maturing 9% RS into a new 8% RS over the phone a while back, this hasn't been done yet. For those who are in this position don't try applying for a new one now.

I've just spoken to them after a rather lengthy hold (for Saffron BS anyway) and they've said the reason for the delay was because they're having to process each of the maturity instructions manually and there's rather a lot of them, applying for a new account now will only increase their workload and thus cause further delays.

With regards to the cut off date the application form is saying this:

whereas the website is saying this:

    [...]

They have confirmed that the application form is incorrectly showing the cut off date for last year's RS and that the main page of their website is indeed showing the correct cut off date of 1st June 2023.
