Thanks to kaMelo and Bigwheels1111 .....  I gave it a go just now and worked within minutes online. I put the proceeds of the old RS into the Base Rate Tracker and funded the first £250 for the new RS from the BRT. Will do a manual payment on the 1st June and set up an appropriate SO from July 1st similar to the SO for the old RS. Thanks people  :)
I would wait until 3rd June before making your second payment into Skipton as deposits made into the account on non-working days are treated as having been made the next working day for interest purposes.
Previous posts by other posters contradict that as do their general T&Cs for savings accounts. They don't seem to make a distinction between weekdays and weekends anywhere in those terms. Previous credits I've made to Skipton over a weekend are credited on those weekend dates and the table below infers interest is immediately earnt.

My reading of the terms is as follows:

Immediately above the table you post it states this:

In the paying in section of the website it states:

In addition the section of the general Ts&Cs regarding withdrawals by internal transfer states:

Where a business day is defined as follows:

So my reading is that payments made by internal transfer or faster payment will begin to earn interest immediately after they have been received into the Skipton account. Payments made into Skipton on non working days will may show as being in the Skipton account the day they are sent but will not actually be ``received" (at least for interest purposes) until the next business day.

The only way to be able to say for sure when deposits made on non-working days begin earning interest is if someone who has made deposits on non-working days calculates how much interest they should've received if deposits made on non-working days do indeed start earning interest from that date and compares this to the amount of interest actually received.

As ever though I'm happy to change my interpretation if someone can provide the relevant calculations.
I always thought that interest is credited at weekends, but this believe was based on the fact that the deposit is shown and dated at weekends. It was naive of me to assume that deposit shown and interest credited is always the same thing.  I’ll stick with your interpretation and feed my Skipton RS on the 3rd June together with Co-op, Mansfield, Tipton and other weekend unfriendly providers.

I recall some months ago it was not possible to transfer between Skipton accounts on a Saturday.

Interest  of £29.20 has been credited to my Saffron 9% Loyalty Regular Saver dated 31/5.

Hopefully, they will open my new 8% Members Month Loyalty Saver later today.

    Ditto with your line one.
My account (same reference) now shows a £50 balance. Can't get into it to see detail but I requested the balance to my nominated account by secure message a few says ago; not yet received but it will come.
I mentioned 8% in my message and they didn't correct me.

    A little patience required

    Saffron are fantastic

100% confident that they'll follow the manual instructions and be a new account showing on the app funded with £50 by, at the latest, COP Monday backdated to today

Edit - I've now received an email saying the balance (+ interest - £50) is winging its way to my nominated account

And now £50 is showing in a 8% account with the same account number and sort code as previously.

    Brilliant service

Fir those that didn't request it be opened by messaging, the account is available to open as a new account when logged in to the online portal, and when done it shows up with new account number immediately so then the new standing order can be set up.

    This appears to be correct.

My RS matured yesterday but the funds were only visible today in another Skipton account. I have just opened a new RS with funds from that account. I chose today for the transfer but the next screen said “We can only complete transactions on working days, we will process your request on 03 June 2024.”

Make a manual payment today, I did 50 mins ago.
    From another bank.

Anyone having problems with Saffron? Tried to send them a secure message but it won’t send (have tried on 2 different days now.) Usually it would send on the website but this just throws up an error as soon as I log in.
I still can't log in on PC (I prefer not to use apps when possible, prefer large screen and keyboard), so whatever the glitch is, they haven't fixed it yet.
I just logged in fine on my laptop so hopefully will work for you now. (Saffron)
Thank you.  Apparently the issue is because they've changed their specification for the length of the memorable word.  I wasn't aware that there had been a change, my old one certainly worked last week so the change can only be fairly recent.  Anyway, changed my memorable word, and all's ok now.
Do you know what the specified length is? Is phoning them the only way to change it? Still no luck getting the app to send them a secure message (it all works fine until you hit send) and tried the leave message on their website but not sure that it went. The first time it told me to login after I typed out my message and tried to submit it, and when I did it gave me the usual error with a ticket number (though a different ticket number to before.) The second time it didn’t do this and seemed to go, but no confirmation received..
My issue was that, when I got as far as entering the three digits of my memorable word I kept getting a message saying the information was incorrect. I rang them and, after a process of elimination, I was asked me how many digits were in my memorable word. There is now a minimum of 10 digits. The CS rep sent me an email link to change my memorable word. I don’t know if you can do this without phoning because looking at the log in page to reset, the only options are forgotten “user ID” or “password”, it doesn’t mention memorable word there.
I've managed to change my Saffron password in the app to save having to contact them to change my memorable word
Saffron: I just logged in on the Web for the first time in a while (usually use the app), and it told me I'd logged in with a temporary password, and forced me to change it, but it seemed quite happy with my existing 9-character memorable word.
Logged out and back in again using the new password and original unchanged 9-character memorable word and got in fine.
I've been having login issues with Saffron BS for ages, and this has prompted me to revisit it. Could log in fine with the app but not through the website - it would also prompt me to call them to reset it.

Ended up being that my password contained some symbols that the app is fine with, but the website isn't. Not really sure how they let me set that password through the website in the first place, but I guess they might've changed some things over time. Changed the password and I can now login through the website as well.

This seems to be a Catch 22. I had a character, then two when I tried to reset the password to solve the recent login issues (but it didn’t prompt me to change my memorable word which it seems is now too short.) I’ve just gone on to change the password to remove the characters, which as well as downgrading the password strength to medium, the app wouldn’t even accept as a change as it didn’t contain a special character!

Do you know of a symbol or symbols that both the app and website are fine with? Calling them to the password doesn’t seem the best thing to do, given that use of actual words seem to see a password deemed weak/very weak, and a random string could easily go wrong over the phone.
