Setup Club Lloyds, Principality & TSB today 😁, TSB has a start date of tomorrow because they make you do a standing order but other 2 have been funded today.
You do not have to fund TSB by standing order.
I have funded mine for several years by manual payment
TSB make you create one as part of the account opening process
    Ah So.
Make 1st payment by STO, then cancel STO & pay manually for future months.
Doesn't help your tomorrow payment, but may help you in the future.

Thanks to kaMelo and Bigwheels1111 .....  I gave it a go just now and worked within minutes online. I put the proceeds of the old RS into the Base Rate Tracker and funded the first £250 for the new RS from the BRT. Will do a manual payment on the 1st June and set up an appropriate SO from July 1st similar to the SO for the old RS. Thanks people  :)
I would wait until 3rd June before making your second payment into Skipton as deposits made into the account on non-working days are treated as having been made the next working day for interest purposes.
Thanks for the heads up. Is that true for internal transfers as well (Skip BRT to Skip Mem RS)?

It doesn't really matter in grand scheme of things but thanks

Principality BS 1 Year Regular Saver Bond (Issue 33) has disappeared from moneyfacts suggesting it will soon go NLA.

To be replaced by Issue 34 at the same rate (5.5%)
    Now live:
    https://www.principality.co.uk/savings-accounts/fixed-term-savings-and-bonds/1-year-regular-saver-bond
Assume that "Only one of the current issue per person" means that you can't hold Issues 33 and 34 at the same time?
You can have 33, 34 and whatever else just no more than 1 of each number
    Answer my question.:)
Page 1275 is full of knowledge 😊
Having re-read Page 1275, it's also home to a particularly stupid question from myself.

I have just opened a new TSB monthly saver, i did not have to create a standing order. As the saver has its own sort and acc numbers i simply credited it from another of my accounts.
  • That's very interesting. The web page is near enough contradicting what the T&Cs state with it's references to immediate credits and interest.
To me, that info should be included within the T&Cs payments in section, which it is not. I'm happy to backtrack on my post above in light of this and It's maybe what's led other posters to believe interest is being paid on weekend deposits.
