I'm planning on making a leek and potato soup this week so will probably use the rest of the leeks for that.  If there's too much it freezes well so not a problem.

We're staying in most days too except for a couple of shopping trips and a couple of walks.  Haven't gone out today as it is so windy and it will be even worse down on the beach and there isn't really anywhere else to go for a walk unfortunately.  Hopefully we shouldn't even need to do a shop next week so will just be out for 2-3 walks during the week.  We do a few of the exercises we had to do when we went on our COPD course.  Can't do them all as haven't got all the necessary equipment that they used, eg we don't have a step (unless we open the back door and it's too windy for that today!) as we live in a bungalow!

In fact I probably ought to shift myself shortly and do some as I've spent most of the morning drawing up a pattern for a top which I'd like to make up using up some broderie anglais I bought 20+ years ago!  Just need DH to move some of his stuff which he's put in front of the cupboard where I keep my materials so no idea when I'll actually get round to making it!

I am the same with eggs bubbs. They actually had some in Sainsb yesterday, so bought 2 boxes as we eat lots of them. Made SW friendly brownies this morning using sweet potato, and as the oven was on, made a crustless quiche too. So lots of eggs used, a few lunches sorted, and have frozen 3/4 of the brownies  o:). Looks nice out but wind is really cold! Delivered some shopping from our local village shop to older folk self-isolating, we have a little network going to make sure no-one is without any help. Advantage of living in a small place  :). We are only half an hour from Heathrow and the absence of planes overhead has been noticeable, another silver lining  ;). More campfire stew for dinner later. With some green veg and will make some mash out of swede/carrots/potatoes.

I'm not sure we'll go out today either, might just read my book. 😉
Could you use a stool or a box to step up and down for your exercises denise? Just a thought. 🙂
I wonder why eggs are in such short supply PIB? Hopefully, like other things, that'll get back to normal with some 'rationing' by the supermarkets.
I've enjoyed watching all the Jamie Oliver programmes. He did a delicious looking beef hotpot which was very adaptable. He used shin and a can of Guinness but the alcohol wasn't essential and I'd use one of the Tesco wine stock cubes. It would work with just a tablespoon of flour so very SW friendly. 😁

Maman All the recipes from the programme are online so available to anyone who wants them.  I'll have a look at the beef hotpot one.  Might be good for another lot of beef from the freezer.

Hello all - another week off the wagon here :persevere: but have thankfully weighed in with a STS - thanks Chieveley!

GTQ I'm so sorry to hear that. Such strange times we're living through. I'm trying not to go out at all because there seems to be loads of people around whenever I do, no-one seems to think the rules apply to them. Luckily I have a garden so if the weather's nice and can potter about out there and get my fresh air and birdsong. It has been snowing this morning though!

I went for a food shop on Friday, got some bits for my grandma and the elderly lady over the road too (her order: two pineapples!). I've been doing a bit of batch cooking so have plenty in the freezer now as well as a full fridge. My meals have been fine, it's the chocolate, crisps and booze I'm shovelling in my gob.

    Plan for today:
    B - 2 crumpets with butter
D - Spiced carrot and lentil soup
T - Leftover broccoli pasta salad
    HEA - Milk, feta
HEB - I'm saying crumpets
    Syns - Sugar (4), butter (4)... ??

Not feeling too clever today after being kept awake by the weather all night, so going to treat myself to a duvet day

Hope everyone else is keeping well. Will get back into posting daily from tomorrow.

So sorry to hear your news GTQ.  Do hope the husband recovers though.  Won't be so devastating for the daughter then.

Tete don't blame you having a duvet day today if you've had a bad night because of the weather.  Glad we haven't had any snow, although have had a bit of rain and it's really cold and very windy too.  Not nice out there at all so won't be going out yet again, not even into the garden today.  Have done a bit of walking round the bungalow - we can walk from the living room, into the passage, into the kitchen and through the dining room back into the living room so makes it quite easy to walk round and round to get some walking done, although it's extremely boring!  Will do some more later.

Not sure I'm going to get my top cut out today as DH still hasn't moved his stuff out of the way of my cupboard and it's too heavy for me to move  :s.  But if he doesn't then I might do a big of my rug making which I've been doing bits of for years now, probably about 10 years or more, LOL!  I used to do it when we went away in the motorhome but could only really do it if the light was really good and as we were usually out walking during the day I didn't get much done.  Maybe I should use this time indoors to get a bit more done as I get really good light while sitting at the dining room table.

    Anyway today's plan:

B - toasted sausage & onion sandwich (was really lovely and just what I fancied!) - HEB; S; 2
    L - ham salad (ham needs using up so I don't have to bin it) - P; S; F
    D - roast beef; roast potatoes, roasted veg, cauliflower & purple sprouting broccoli - P; F; S

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - sausages 2; may have a rum & diet ginger beer again tonight same as I did last night (just the one!) 2.5

If I stick to just the one rum then I should be well inside Syns to date and won't need to cut back between tomorrow and WI on Thursday (although that's for my benefit not my consultants - don't need to text her with my weight until at least 16 April! by which time I'll hopefully be well within target range!)

I think we all have things we could do denise but I wonder how many will get done. I think I've been very lazy so far. Lots of reading, my daily walk, a few chores....Where does the time go?

Still not heard anything from my consultant since Thursday. Not sure whether to text again?

It's difficult to ration yourself when we're trying to minimise trips to the shops tete. I heard someone say on the radio (I think it was a police officer) that going to the shop for a bar of chocolate wasn't an essential journey. On the other hand, the government has decided it was essential to keep off licences open.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porage, HEA milk-
L- lentil and veg soup (P,S)
D- roast beef (P), SW roast potatoes (F), cabbage, kale, swede & carrot mash, cauli, broccoli
Syns- gravy 4? weekend wine
