What is wrapped round the bananas bubbs, omelette or pancake? Looks yum! I iron pillowcases, teatowels and a shirt for OH every day  o:), decided life is too short to iron superkingsize duvet covers  :D. Another lovely day here with lots of sun. Being kept busy with 4 of us at home. Went to Sainsb today to top up fresh stuff, plenty of choice, even found eggs. But was only allowed 3 individual Mullers  :'(. I know, rules are rules, it’s fine. Am helping out with getting shopping for others, as have lots of over 70s in my village. And the dog is getting his legs walked off, we all want our 1hr’s walk a day  ;). Had campfire stew for dinner with my version of spiced rice, all SW friendly, so feeling good about getting thru this first week of our new ‘normal’. Determined to come out of this crisis smaller, not bigger. Hope you’re all staying well, safe and healthy, one day at a time...

In true MSE fashion, I got the multipack from Tesco the other day on offer for £2. But today in Sainsb, the individual Mullers were only 35p, and the Banana Custard one is our favourite. And 3 is better than none, right?

I've got the munchies tonight. Could have been worse, I had 2 Ryvitas spread with horseradish and salmon flakes on top. It was yummy. 😁

Over on syns yesterday as decided to share a bottle of wine to toast our Son in Law's birthday!  (who needs an excuse anyway, LOL!) so will need to do the usual - see where I am on Monday and work out how many syns are left for Monday to Wednesday.  Today's plan:

    B - SW fry up with sausages - sausages 2; egg P; beans F; mushrooms S
    L - cheese on toast - HEA2; HEB; mustard powder, Lee & Perrins F; egg P
D - corned beef hash - corned beef 4; potatoes F; beans F; onions S; cabbage S.  Might also put some leek into the hash as well as the onion as got a few big ones in my veg box so would up the Speed too

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - sausages 2; corned beef 4; rum & diet ginger beer (probably) 5?

  • Morning all, beautiful day though there is a little nip.  Been a strange week, starting early in it by hearing of someone I knew had contracted it and sadly died, then this morning I was told told her husband has been taken into hospital, hoping against hope that it is not the same reason. Their daughter loaded a bit of video on YouTube to get people to think of how dangerous it is, this despite the fact she cried her eyes out throughout the piece. What impacted on me was the sudden realisation that it was about 6 minutes long but only felt like 30 seconds, it felt like an abstract way of showing how fast this thing spreads.

I’m going to do all I can to help, but it is nice that people are pulling together, mostly, though there will always be the idiots.

keep safe everyone, we acanthus only do our best.

That's very sad news gtq. It really brings it home that every one these statistics are devastating for the loved ones involved.

We're trying very hard to follow the guidelines here. Basically, we're staying at home except for a daily walk and a weekly visit to the shops.  DD1 has brought us a few bits and left them on the doorstep (she's a key worker so has to be out) but I think that's more because she wants to make sure we're OK than because we need anything.

It was my BIL's birthday on Tuesday denise  so every time we washed our hands we sang Happy Birthday to him specifically. Today it's a friend's birthday so it's her turn to be remembered.

I open freeze sliced leeks denise and then it's really easy to add a handful to recipes. I put some in our hash this week.

I have a menu for today although I'm not feeling particularly hungry so it may change if I fancy something different. We had a lovely, big breakfast so maybe that's why.

    Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit, baked beans (F), HEB toast, bacon and fried egg (P), HEA milk
L- JP (F) with cottage cheese (P), spring onions and pickles (S)
D- Aldi curry with SW chips, pilau rice (F) and extra veg (S)
Syns- curry 1, weekend wine
