Just realised I didn't answer you question Tete about the Sewing Show. It was a great day out with my friend but turned out to be a bit speedier than I'd planned! I really only wanted some material for cushion covers but couldn't find anything the right colour in the right sort of material but what I did buy was a pattern making system so I won't need to spend £15+ on a pattern in future so hopefully it will save money in the long term even if it cost the equivalent of about 6 or 7 patterns

Forgot to ask how you are doing Bubbs and hope you are sleeping better.
Well done MM at target and to Chieveley for the chart and Tete on being our SOTW!
Be good all - and no Monday Blues3 -
Vegastare, I totally hear you on your MIL, my gran has the same effect on me - a total "mood hoover" - and I'm obliged to see her for a few hours every weekend. One thing I've found really helps is to make sure I go there on a full stomach so that I feel less irritable in the first place, and am less likely to dive in the biscuit tin when I come home. Good luck!
The pattern system sounds intriguing Denise, hope it's useful!
Yes I'm enjoying the veggie challenge! Recording all my meals for SW was really bringing it home to me how much meat I was eating - barely a meat-free meal all week apart from breakfast. I thought if I force myself to come up with new ideas, then I'll have them in my arsenal to help me eat less meat in the future.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb2 -

I used to cook my own pulses especially as we have a good range of Asian shops locally which sell everything you could want.
I'm going to look at making my own butter beans again as it's getting hard to buy the tinned ones cheaply.
Your menu looks very SP today denise.
Well done for getting back into range midge. It's lovely to be able to plan that dress for the wedding and know it'll fit!:)
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, baked beans (F), fried egg (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- cold meat (P), fried veg and pickles (S), fried potato (F)
D- veggie chilli (P,S),, brown rice & SW chips (F), cottage cheese (P)
Syns- Rice 1
I'm using a microwave pouch of brown rice for ease as It takes so long to cook. I suppose I could try making a batch and freezing it like I do with the pilau.

I had to go back and have a look at my plan for today Maman, I hadn't realised it look like SP! Unfortunately not SP as we had some of the veg & pearl barley left over from the braised lamb yesterday so we had that at lunchtime before the cheese on toast! It was really nice and tasted so much of lamb even though I'd taken it out and minced for shepherds pie tonight, wish I'd kept some of the cooking liquor for that but used it all as a kind of soup.
I find cooking butter beans in a pressure cooker quite difficult, for some reason they seem to burst when they're pressure cooked. Think I might try doing them in the SC next time.
I only use brown rice now and you're right it does take a long time to cook but so much nicer than white rice, wish we'd started eating it a long time ago. The only white rice I use now is arborio. We even have brown pasta as well now.

I love the texture of brown rice, even though it does take a bit longer to cook I find it foolproof, unlike white rice which seems easy to ruin
