Morning sunny here this morning.    Firefly we managed to message about prize and DH had a very nice reply.  We are not sure if he’s getting a football or a shirt for the prize so it will be a surprise.  We had a few words as he was asked to put his full name.  So he put his full name including middle one. He always  uses an abbreviation of his first name.  I said he should have put that but no he was insistent they wanted his full name!  You can tell he does not do comps.

Duncan you made me feel tired two walks already.  I wish we had a little bit of your energy.  It’s amazing your Dad has not lost more weight.  It’s a hard one to do.  DH has a very sweet tooth so I’ve been making crumbles with lots of fruit and very little crumble.  One day it will reduce to just fruit hopefully.  Also since it’s just been the two of us for ages I’ve made them in smaller dishes.  Last night we commented we certainly are eating smaller portions.    We did make it out yesterday.  I suggested we went in the car and go to one of our local parks, which is at the top of a hill.  Well you have never seen him move so quickly.   He has not driven for two months.  To be honest I felt nervous in the car at first but he is a good driver still.    He Forgot there is an entrance to the park at the top of the hill so we still had a bit of a climb.   The park has a big grassed area which in the winter had three football pitches market out and it has wooded areas all around,  it’s been like that for a couple of centuries.   There used to be pitch and put area but now it’s grassed over and fenced in so dogs can have a good run there. Well I have never seen so many people on the grassed area.   It was after 7pm.   At least they were a long way from us and in the end we walked through the wooded area. Came home tired but pleased to have been out.

Going to try to clear the front garden a bit today our small hedge needs cutting again.  Our dustbin day is tomorrow.  We will be able to get rid if more of the garden waste.

    Have a good day all.

Not long back from our little break. Stopped off in Kirkby Lonsdale which was really busy, not been for years.
Just walked around though, really can't be bothered shopping at all now apart from going for food. Hate wearing a mask, although Sylvia made DH and me 2 each which was really kind of her.

Nice to hear you are getting out and about a bit leanfun. I think some people are finding it difficult. Well done on the win .

Keeping the weight down is difficult Duncan. Always trying to keep mine under control though actually lost during lockdown as not been away anywhere!

Be nice to have your hair cut indie. DH's hair was driving him mad and even depressing him I think.

DD coming for dinner and staying the night. She will be working 8 night shifts after this which she hates, extra money though and she will save by not getting out too!

    Good Morning
Wet today so plenty of towel downs to look forward to :)
I barked so much at the bin lorry yesterday that Ruby next door came out as she thought I was having a fit, but it was good fun ;)
Nowhere specific to go today so it will probably be just a big circle with easy access back home if the rain gets too heavy.
    Take Care.

Afternoon, Charlie has had his op and is home again, a bit woozy but he will sleep that off. They flushed the lumps out on a back paw and front one but found nothing. They thought he had a grass seed in them but found nothing. I have to take him back next week for a check-up.I did ask what happens if the lumps return as 1 has but they said they would try antibiotics again.
Glad you got out for a walk leanfun, amazing how quick men can move when they can get a drive out after not using the car for a while, lol.
I know what you mean about the masks sheils, i hate wearing them especially after having to wear them for 12-hour shifts but it's something we have to do when out shopping now. I hope you had a good catch up with your DD last night.
Duncan, good to hear your dad's ear-bashing wasn't too bad, enjoy your walks today.
It's very warm here today, i have got 2 loads of washing out and went food shopping before picking Charlie Boy up and am tired now. I was working yesterday and am working the next 2 days.So will relax this afternoon. I came home to a win last night. I won a cat drawstring bag on StokesContests.com and i know DS's girlfiend would love it so will put it away for her for christmas.
Have a good afternoon, stay safe.

    Hi all,
A really dreadful day here, torrential rain. You wouldn’t even want to go out Duncan!
DH a fan of Kate Bush.

Glad Charlie is ok indie. Sounds like you are having a busy time.
Had a nice catch up with DD before her start of nights. Her chin is all sore with wearing the masks for so long. She won’t be pleased to hear pools and gyms probably won’t be opening until 14 September here.

Been trying to decide whether to go on next break as it is in 2 Yorkshire areas where the cases have been rising. It was booked last November and a bargain so reluctant not to go especially as got a nice balcony room in the second hotel. We are determined to go about but obviously trying to be careful too.
At least by then more restaurants will be open. Seem to have been eating at Wetherspoons all the time when we have gone out. Have got a nice caravan booked near Dunkeld for after that, managed to get it before all the prices rocketed! Couldn’t stand not getting about, it really depressed us. X

    Thanks, Duncan and sheils.
My dad use to be an emergency driver for Dr's years ago and he use to drive Kate Bush's dad to jobs, he gave dad a book of poems he wrote, lol. He was always talking about his daughter I think although he didn't approve of her choice of career he was proud of her.
There is always going to be clusters of rising numbers sheils and as long as you are careful you should be ok on holiday.

G'morning all, bright sunny and warm here already :)

We are heading out to Lidl at 10am, mostly for cheese but will get fruit and stuff for Dad as well, I like my cheese :)
I can smell ham bone so Dad must have taken one out of the freezer this morning, I will probably get it when we get home, can't wait, the smell is driving me nuts.

Don't worry about clusters shiels, they are always there but as long as you keep in your own bubble you should be fine. Dad knows the Dunkeld area well so if you need any tips just ask.

Must go an put Dad's suncream on now, ready for the off;)
    Take Care.

Morning.  Hot, hot, hot here.  We will be in for the day.  DH opened the front door and said the heat hit him.  Hottest day of the year so far.  We did have breakfast out in the garden.
Duncan hope you enjoyed the trip to Lidl’s and will get to have the ham bone.

Sheils, I wonder about it all everything is so uncertain.  As Duncan’s Dad said there will be clusters and we have to take care but not be paranoid.   We have only seen DD1 and her son a couple of times in the garden since June when it was allowed so really since beginning of March.  The only other person we have seen is our friend’s daughter a few times in the garden.  All of this is something we have never experienced in our lives.   Everyone has to do what they are comfortable with.  Here DH is in the vulnerable group due to age and his health.   On the positive side I know the NHS has had experience of treating the virus and now has more effective treatment.   In Scotland the schools will be back soon and places should be less crowded.  We should be on holiday right now.  Weeks ago our flights were cancelled.  DH has found this harder to cope with than I have.

Indie hope it’s not too hot for you at work today.  Hope Charlie is recovering from his procedure.  Sorry they didn’t find something as it means the problem could come back.   I had a strange dream last night.  I went to a friend’s house at Christmas and she gave us a dog.   I’m not very good with dogs as I was bitten by one as a child, although we did have a couple of dogs when we were young.  It was a most strange dream as we never exchanged presents with this friend.
indie very interesting about your Dad being a driver for Kate Bush’s Dad.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Evening all!
Had a lovely day out in our own region by the coast. (Portpatrick and Sandhead)
Wasn't as warm as the forecast but was nice.
After last nights announcement we have cancelled our Yorkshire break which is annoying.
We have now officially been told to by Scottish Govt anyway. Everything so confusing.
Poor Sylvia is in the new lockdown area.
Been to Dunkeld before Duncan but not the Erigmore site which Verdant Leisure bought recently. Didn't know dogs liked cheese!
    Shame about your holiday leanfun.
    Hope everyone is well. X
