Afternoon, the cake sounds yummy leanfun,i use to make cakes but DS's girlfriend makes them now. I don't eat them as she adds lots of cream and icing and i prefer plain ones but DS likes them. It's been raining all morning here so damp and miserable out. We are waiting to hear if we can have a cat 3 year old that the local rescue centre has in. She is used to dogs and Charlie boy always had cats around till we got him. So could be fun times ahead with them both.
I had a win on FB today, a £50 amazon voucher it's my first win this month.

Indie well done on the FB win.  Great prize as you can choose something for yourself or a present. Hope all goes well and you are able to have the cat. 
It’s so heavy here if only there was a storm to clear the air.
Duncan’s Dad I’m with you with the baking.  It’s plain and simple with me.  Never was very good at icing etc so quickly gave that up trying when our children were young.  

Last shower has just stopped so we are going to try to go to out.

We met some nice people today, Dad can't half talk when he gets the chance.
Rain has arrived here so no extra walk for me, I'll just have to keep my legs crossed until the last walk of the day at about 7pm.
I can smell peanut butter so Dad must have prepared my 6pm treat already, I can't wait

Good Morning Friday
Fresh with some drizzle here first thing but hopefully that is finished now for the day and the sun cream will be required.
I need to take Dad to get his 3 monthly vitamin B injection today so it will be a good walk, he is also delivering some Freegle items that he had on offer so that will double the distance.

Good morning, didn't get the cat but won't give up.There are lots of cats needing homes out there. Sounds like your in for a nice long walk today Duncan,hope you don't wear your dad out.
I only worked the morning yesterday, and found out we have locked the home down again. A resident on the middle floor has high temp and a few other signs of the virus but it could turn out to be an infection. A test has been sent for so we shall see.I have a few days off now and they have said the weather is going to be nice,i hope so.

Morning morning sunny here this morning.  It must have rained as hedge out front looks very wet.          Indie sorry to hear your home has had to lockdown.  Hope the resident is negative and gets well soon.     Sorry to hear you didn’t get the cat as you say another one will be available. Enjoy time off. I’m hoping to go out in the garden and continue clearing up out there if it’s fine.

Duncan hope you enjoy your tripe out for Dad’s injection and other calls.   You might guess I’m another one who can talk. It’s great to have your Dad’s chat here in the Inn.  

We made it to the chemist the other day and it rained on the way.   The chemist is a talker too.  He wanted to know if we had moved into the area as he had not seen that prescription before. DH explained why we were there.  When the chemist found prescription on computer he asked if we were collecting for someone else.  DH twigged immediately and said you spotted date of birth and said it was for him.  Then chemist said you keep so young because you have a younger wife.   I don’t know how but I didn’t say a word.  Chemist did say he would deliver next prescription.  DH still wasn't happy as the GP’s surgery had asked for 56 days not 28 days for three lots of tablets and he has 28 days of other tablets at home. We made it home with no rain.

We had a fish delivery yesterday and I treated myself to some crab and had a delicious crab salad for lunch.    We had some small hard pears in the Odd Box last week.  Somewhere I read if you put hard pairs with a ripe banana in a brown paper bag they will ripen.,  it worked I left them overnight and last night we had soft pairs.  

It’s Friday so hope everyone has a good weekend.

sorry you didn't get the cat you wanted indie, as you say though there are loads more waiting so lots of good luck, sorry to hear the home is locked down again &  hope the resident will be ok, enjoy your few days off. 

well done sorting prescription leanfun & sounds a lovely compliment the chemist gave you both 

your crab salad sounds nice, we don't have that here as my DH doesn't like it but he will eat the crab sticks which  i don't like lol, great idea with the pears & banana thanks, will keep that in mind for future use,

Well that was not as far as I thought it would be today, Dad found a shortcut that saved us a mile so it was only 9 miles round trip. We did get caught in a shower but the sun came out right after and dried us both off.
Dad got his injection and they also took some blood to do a work-up on his diabetes numbers, he will get the results online but also a verbal kicking from the area nurse on the phone later in the month.
We got caught in another shower when we went to the park after dinner but this time there was no sunshine to dry us after so I got a towel dry when we got home.
Lazy evening ahead but we will get out again before bedtime.

I got off to a flyer finding a football on our first walk I also noticed that the team trainers were getting ready for a Saturday session for the first time in months so I will need to try to get Dad to take me along to watch them later.
Nothing else planned today.
