Morning, Your ham bone sounded yummy Duncan. It must be nice to walk with no one around as you can just concentrate on your sniffing and smelling everything you pass.
Your candle sounds lovely leanfun and i am sure your sister will love it. We are the same with trains ff . You do get used to not hearing so many especially at night then when they are running more it's noticeable. It was so hot here yesterday i didn't want to go out but DS needed a blood test (they couldn't get any out after all) and DS's GF needed a lift to give blood last night  DS was told he needed an MRI on his throat at the hospital the other day and it would be a month waiting  list plus but got a call yesterday they had a cancellation and could he go tonight so that was quick. They said as it was only a little scan they can do it. I know they are working late every day to try and catch up. So glad it's cooler today, think we were lucky as thunder missed us last night. Charlie is not happy with us at the moment as I shaved his fur earlier but I have a cooling mat coming today for him. DS said if he doesn't use it he will, lol.
    Have a good day
    Stay safe..

    Is it safe?
3:15 was the first clap of thunder and we were out a walk, then the rain came, then more thunder, I dragged Dad home so that he would not get too scared then after he had dried me I went to my safe place and there I stayed until was tempted out by some grated cheese. I hope there is not any more to come tonight as it always sounds louder in the dark.

Dad's appointment at the hospital in August has been canceled with no new date, could be that it will be a phone call rather than face to face.

Good Morning to you and you and you ;)

There was another clap of thunder last night about 10 pm but it was far enough away and Dad was in bed so I didn't want to bother him, a mist has descended this morning and everything is damp but that meant I got a rub down with my towel when we got home so no bad thing
Expecting a parcel today so I shall be waiting at the gate to bark at the van, Dad is also waiting for a fellow Freegler to collect a folding chair that he is giving away but in spite of asking what time she is coming for it, we are just told 'today'.
I am getting boiled rice for my dinner today but poor Dad forgot to take anything out of the freezer so it looks like it will be a pot noodle for him.
    Have a good day everyone.

Morning well done Duncan for getting your Dad home in the thunder. We haven't had any but it has been raining here.Hope he hasn't too long to wait for another hospital appointment. My DS was the same and has had 3 phone calls but they seem to be opening the hospitals up again down here.He had 2 appointments at the hospital and I must say the car parks were nearly empty which was nice as we usually queue to get in them.
I have nothing planned for the day as yet. Have a good weekend
    Stay safe..

Morning.  It was so hot here last night difficult to sleep to hours.  It has rained in the night but very muggy here now.  Duncan great you survived the thunder storm.  Lo to your Dad forgetting to get something out of freezer.  Know that feeling well.  Since lockdown here we have never been so organised with food and remembering to take things out of freezer.  Hope the hospital appointed comes through soon.  Our local hospital is doing telephone appointments still not open yet except for emergencies.  Hope the chair is collected soon Duncan so you can go out.

Indie hope you have a restful day off.  I’ve been trying to catch up on the main board last week started from end again less than ten pages to catch up.

    Take care everyone.

    Good Morning All :)
Dad managed to rustle up a veggie curry last night so the dreaded PN sits on the shelf for another day.
Took delivery of a webcam yesterday and it was a while before it was installed as dad had to change a lot of settings first but it should be OK now and ready for our first Zoom chat this afternoon though I will need to take the shine off Dad's head as it is blinding on the screen ;)
Today has started a bit cooler and drizzly but should warm up soon and turn to rain just in time for our walk to Lidl.
    take care :)

Morning lovely and cool here this morning.   Fiirefly made me smile at your description of the birds and their noise.
Duncan veggie curry sounds great.  Enjoy your walk to Lidl’s hope there are not many people there.
Another quiet day here.  If it’s not raining later we might walk around the block. It’s become a big event as we have only walked out three times since first week of March.  😀

Dad got a message from the Freegler about collecting the chair as she could not manage yesterday so he got her address and we went round that way on the way to the shop, it almost doubled the distance and poor Dad had to carry stuff in both directions, in the rain, so he was a bit grumpy and did not allow me too much time for sniffing however I did get to chase 2 squirrels and a cat and dad saw a deer but by the time he had told me and I looked up, it was gone, you have got to love these early walks when it is raining and there are no humans about.
Home now, shopping put away and thinking about the next walk while Dad tidies up the room, the camera is a wide angle and shows everything in front of it.

    Hi everyone,
Glad everyone seems to be well. Still feeling pretty bored here with our stricter lockdown rules.
Shops open tomorrow but not supposed to go much more than 5 miles to them! Restrictions supposed to ease on Friday though. Have booked a couple of 2 night breaks not too far away on 21st and 27th July to see how things go. Hotels still not saying how breakfasts etc will work so just booked room only for now. Have booked a day at Hadrians wall for our Silver Wedding Anniversary, not exactly what we had planned but never mind. Cancelled our hotel a while ago when it was still free to cancel.
Sounds like one of my chef sons will be changing career ( to welder) which is a shame as he is a brilliant chef. Other one is still unemployed so fingers crossed people do start booking hotels and meals. He is prepared to move anywhere but things don’t look good TBH.
DD will be back at work next week thank goodness as she will have a few weeks on half pay even though she took some holidays.
We have had brilliant weather but been so wet yesterday and today and really windy now with it set to continue.
Must get back to entering some comps.
