Girls and Boys of the Compers Inn let me introduce you to:
Mungo
Dad named him after an ancestor of his, Mungo Band, he was one of 13 children, married twice and father of 5, he was the son of a farm hand, and grandson of a Master Tailor. He himself was a farm worker and lived and worked for most of his life in Collace in Perthshire and is buried in Collace Parish Church graveyard quite near to the entrance.5 -
Hi Kaat-lady and DS. It takes a while to get used to the new forum. I used to comp by end date that was easy on old forum. Here it’s much easier to stay on the main board and enter as they are posted then you can see what you have entered or skipped. If you don’t do twitter or Instagram Just leave those. You have to be in it to win it as they say. Many people doing comps now but there’s still a chance. Good luck.

Morning very cool here too this morning. Hi Duncan love your pic with Mongo. Great name and like FireFly love the story. Mongo Band probably had a hard life. Certainly farming in all weathers.
it was a strange day here yesterday. Chilly after the heat of last week and all day it looked as though it was going to rain so we didn’t venture out. That was a mistake. I phoned a friend who was 80 at the weekend. She volunteers at a couple of senior clubs. On her birthday she heard some music in her street. A large crowd from the clubs came down the street singing Dancing Girl led by a trumpeter. She told me at first she thought what’s going on and then felt overwhelmed. She assured me they were all social distancing and many she didn’t recognise as they had masks on. What a surprise she said all the neighbours came out. They hadn’t told her husband so it was a surprise for him too.
After my phone call my neighbour knocked yesterday to see how we are. Well my hearing has gone lately and lockdown has done something to me. I can usually chat, chat, chat about nothing but yesterday didn’t seem able to chat at all. Neighbour went off looking really glum. She had only smiled when my DH came to the door. He’s caught the sun on his face last week eating out in the garden and has hacked at his hair so it doesn’t look too bad. At the end I just wanted to get in doors a bit like Duncan hiding when his Dad was on Zoom. Strange times.
Sheils great you are all ok. Do hope your DS’s change of career does not last too long and your other DS is working soon. What hard times for them. Been thinking of your DD. There was a bit on TV news about nurses caring for mentally ill patients in relation to PPE. Very difficult times. I expect she will be really tired when she starts back. Hope her injuries are healed. On a positive note. I put in another order from the Billingsgate Fishmonger we have been using. We had a wonderful salmon dinner in Sunday. DH says we have never eaten so well. Duncan we have plenty of fruit from the Odd Box delivery of fruit and veg. They buy the things supermarkets don’t want and is surplus. Everything has been fine so far.
Take care everyone.2 -
Duncan, does Mungo have another (second or last) name yet? I was thinking that Jerry might suit him perhaps?

Technically he would be Mungo Band Cole but he seems to be happy with just Mungo after all, all the best people are known by only one name3

Morning all
Nothing to report ... Except toothache from yesterday. Filling came out just before lockdown and best I could get was a temporary one. Latest pain is on the rear lower mandible, filling was on rear upper, so possibly not related. Rang dentist yesterday who said they will be in touch as soon as possible but a couple of weeks at the earliest.
And nearly forgot to say I've entered a few competitions, mainly for the experience not for what's on offer3 -
Morning. Sorry to hear about your toothache K9. Hope you didn’t have to wait that long. Good luck with the competitions. Agree with you about prizes. Take care.2

New Day, New Month, same old rain.
Why is it that you never count the days when it is warm and sunny but every day with rain seems like a week?
Dad walked over 11 miles yesterday and I probably did at least half that again, it was a really good day
Nothing going on here today except the bin collection so at least my voice will get some exercise
Dad enters some comps but only for things he wants to win and seldom joins a website just to enter, also, we don't do fb, gleam, twitter and stuff so even if he wants the prize, no entry on those.
Have a good day folks.3 -
Morning everyone, suns trying to come out here. We had rain all day yesterday and most of the night so think we have had enough for now. Hope your dentist can get you in quicker than a couple of weeks time K9.
I have nothing planned for today as yet other than washing.Hope you all have a good day
