Update. No joy with 119. Contacted the GP’s and now they admit they are making a list of the people in the same situation as DH and will phone us when they have availability of the Pfizer vaccine. They said they are hoping to arrange for people to go to the surgery. They seem to have forgotten it needs to be stored at -70 degrees. We will see. DH remembers Matt Hancock saying there would be a vaccine shortage in April.
We have managed to go for a short walk today. It’s sunny but a chilly wind here.2 -
Morning, what a run around to get the 2nd jab leanfun. I hope the GP sorts it soon for your DH. That's good that the games are just the right age for GK, they will enjoy playing with them.
Good news your weather is warming up Duncan, did the gasman come and fix the hob for your dad? My DS had a few calls from the physio ref his hip and back and had to see them in the end. They gave him exercises to do and that was it. Let's hope they can help your dad.
I was at work yesterday, and nothing changed, still short-staffed the only difference was I found some of the work too heavy for me, which tells me I am getting too old for the job. The lad I worked with is a staff member there and 30 years younger and has cut his hours down to 24 from 36 as he finds the work too hard for him. The manager is leaving and the deputy is going for her job, if she gets it quite a few staff and nurses will leave as they don't get on with her. so more agency will be needed. lol. Anyway, I am back there Monday so 2 days to recover.
Hope you all have a good weekend

Morning. Sunny here but very cold. Indie sorry to hear about your work conditions. Says something when even the younger staff are finding work too hard. I think you are amazing to do the job. The changes to the age state pension can be claimed seemed to go by without much said but for so many jobs it is so hard for the people still in work. Indie take care rest up on your days off.Enjoy the fine weather this weekend whatever you are doing.2

Good Morning
Sunny start again, we could get used to this but the garden is starting to dry out.
Different system for the jabs up here, the second letters have started to come out and speaking to the ones that have got one they say it is almost spot on for the 12 weeks and a couple of folk are getting different vaccines to the first one but they are not even bothered just as long as they get it, Dad should get his in about 5 weeks.
Work is either a love it or hate it thing Indie, if you enjoy the job then you can put up with those above you, Dad hated work of any kind and so if he didn't get on with his boss he moved somewhere else, he still has over 4 years to state pension and is hoping his private pension will see him through OK, I was not around when he did his sums originally.
Gas man came and did the hob yesterday, he was finished inside of an hour and we were only 20 minutes late for the 10 o'clock walk
Dad now has to go to the dump with all the old stuff so an appointment was made for this afternoon, he was a bit miffed that he had to print off the email to show tham at the gate when he arrives, what a waste of time/effort/paper.
We have been to the shops already and I am hoping both that there is football on and that Dad takes me.

Some good news DH has heard from GP’s. He has an appointment for Saturday at the surgery for his second vaccination. We are really pleased.
It’s been sunny and warm enough to sit out in the garden for lunch today.

Good Morning
That is good news leanfun.
Dad was at the Physio yesterday who pulled and pushed his arm about all over the place then announced that it was all my fault, RSI resulting in tennis elbow. I have been sent a 14 page list of exercises to get Dad to do and a note for me to now walk on the right instead of the left.
A change in the weather today, the air feels damp so we are expecting rain at some point later, still mild though so that can't be bad.

Morning, great news about DH's jab leanfun. It was lovely here yesterday but I was at work so didn't get to spend much time outside. But today I am off and it looks like it's going to be nice again.
I hope your dad's arm was ok after all the pushing and pulling the physios did to it Duncan. Your have to get used to walking on the right now and not pull so much.14 pages of exercises is a lot, but if it helps it must be done.
I have got washing and food shopping to do today and now the workman have finally filled in the holes outside next to my hedge I can start work on that.
Hope you all have a good day

Good Morning
Frost has returned with a bang but in turn with the clear skies it should be a nice day once it gets going.
The walking group was supposed to re-start today but they don't want to until things get 'back to normal' and some of them are out walking in smaller groups away from the organised one so what's the point? Dad is due to renew his Ramblers membership next month and after a year of no walks and now this he is starting to wonder if he should bother and just continue to walk with just me.
My new cushion covers arrived at last having endured a nightmare of a journey from India, 4 days to get to Glasgow then 6 days to get to Fife, Fedex should be ashamed of themselves.

Morning. Chilly here but no frost. Hope it warms up later.Duncan hope you have been walking on the right side and not left and have been watching your Dad do his exercises. Hope they will help.Duncan’s Dad it’s a difficult decision about the Ramblers membership. I must say I can understand people not wanting to be in large groups until things are more normal. It depends how much you gained from it when it’s normal times. Our eldest daughter joined a young group years ago and gained a lot from the walking and the friends she made.Hope you are pleased with the cushion covers. Seems to have taken a long time from Glasgow to Fife.We are waiting for a paying in book from the bank. Our local branch is closing soon and it’s going to be a bus journey to the nearest one with no parking anywhere near. I have a cheque to be paid in and I don’t want to go into our local branch. It’s small and always busy and it’s all machines now. I can do the machines but when I last was in there before lockdowns it was crowded. Apparently if you have a paying in book you can pay cheques in at a post office. There is a post office counter in a corner shop that has lots of space and few people near us. Like your covers Duncan it’s taking days to arrive.
Indie hope work was not too bad this week.Take care.2 -
Afternoon
Shame your walking group isn't starting just yet Duncan, as for deciding to renew the membership I think leanfun is right. It depends on how much you get out of it. I'm sure your dad will come to the right decision for you both.
Glad you have another way to pay your cheques in leanfun. we don't have any banks in our local shops now. 5 years ago we had 4 banks and my bank closed last month so now we have to go into town to do banking. Or do it online. I won't do it online but DS and his girlfriend do.
I have worked the last 2 mornings at a new home, we just got the contract. It is very busy but doing the mornings have been ok. I will go back and do a long day to see what it's like.,if and when they need someone. I won a bag on FB beginning of the week and it turned up today, it's not often I win on FB so nice when I do.
Hope you all have a good day
