A sadness that so many OS stalwarts aren't here now isn't it?

They can do their worst frankly - their loss if they want to beat up on a guy dying of cancer before getting their own house in order
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?7 -

No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
Don't worry
was given six months to live around four years ago and I'm still circling round the plug hole. Happens to everyone, and at least I've got the opportunity to organise

It’s not just the new format ( which I hate with a passion). I had a number of PMs from a “new user” referring to me as scum, pointing out I owned more than one property and that I was everything that was wrong with MSE and was making a fool of everyone else. Worryingly they they had trawled through ancient posts and had a profile of me that was so accurate it freaked me out. I reported them to MSE but they simply set up new accounts once they were censored and carried on. In the end I decided to read but only post occasionally. I have the greatest of respect for many regulars but the online bullying which MSE will not address led me to stay away.Sadly, I don’t think I’m alone.NO FARMS = NO FOOD11

I've been struggling for about two weeks now to get into the MSE website and particularly the OS forum. I've been around since joining in 2006. I can't get anything but blank pages on my old i pad, and have only just found my way on by sending a LOT of e-mails to the MSE techies. Really sad to be giving up my membership and following y'all on so many threads but I will have to give up I think. I also find it difficult once signed in on my desktop computer to navigate around the new look site, searching for things and methods of looking at posts that either no longer exist, or are so well concealed they may as well have been deleted. Anybody know where everyone's avatar/signature pictures have gone?MrsLurcherwalker said:These OS threads are looking so sparse since the new format came into being and I can't be the only one missing our friends like JackieO who has given up posting and many others who were the backbone of the OS ethos. Who else is missing? It's such a pity as they are the holders of knowledge and sensible views that are priceless in these days of uncertainty after Brexit and before the possible Coronavirus outbreak. I wish we could turn the forum back to how it was don't you?4 -
I can identify with that, I got e-mail notifications on every thread I'd posted on too, the daily task of picking through them was a tad irksome I must say.Jojo_the_Tightfisted said:All the MSE emails had been identified as Spam. Unsurprisingly, seeing as the switchover had set up emails to notify users of every single reply on every single thread they had ever posted on, not just the ones they had subscribed on - going by the vast quantities of the things lurking in the Spam bin over the past week.

I only respond to PMs from those I know. All I can say is some people have far to much time and possibly empty lives to trawl back through posts and verbally attack posters.I hope all is well with you and yours and the weather hasn't been too fierce.Take carepollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Welcome back. Even if you've changed..... ;-)Rosa_Damascena said:Well I'm back but not a fan of the new forum at all. The old forum was a good community of sharers but these changes have driven a coach and horses through all of that. On the plus side, I shall be spending a lot less time on MSE and probably just stick to OS now.
Am really disappointed that JackieO has gone, though. I feel like we've lost a favourite common-sense auntie.

I ended up changing my user name too. I didn't want to do that because I didn't want to be a newbie on here as I've been using this forum for years. This is probably my first post using my new name - I don't like the new forum a lot.4
