A sadness that so many OS stalwarts aren't here now isn't it?

"iPhone 7 Discontinued: September 10, 2019; 4 months ago" So anyone that just got that phone now has a lemon and its Only 3.4 years old
Then isn't your complaint about phone companies rather than MSE?Not when the forum only seems to work for phones that are less than 2 years old. The forum if it was any good should work on ever browser made over the last 10 years without any mods. But you get what you pay for....Apps can get away with it the will always be new users, Websites and forums have to support all the current users.I google 'What killed Skype' and this answer on Quora seems to sum it up well."Apr 20, 2018 - Microsoft didn't kill skype by acquiring it. They killed it by removing everything that was great about the app and implementing a POS useless interface to boot. Problems began since version 8."That and they booted every user out forcing them to change password and check their Email and 'confirm your ID' A bit like this forum just did.Do you have any data about phones over 2 years old not being able to use this new version?5 -
VFM4MP is also still ppr'd for some reason. Also a shame.

My phone is over 2 years old, it's newish to me but I don't think I have any trouble accessing forums. I didn't realise there was an app, I just 'save' all pages I want to look at on the screen and redo them when I've read whatever page I'm on to the next page, deleting the previous read page. I'm on my ipad mini at the moment, again no problem.4

Well I'm back but not a fan of the new forum at all. The old forum was a good community of sharers but these changes have driven a coach and horses through all of that. On the plus side, I shall be spending a lot less time on MSE and probably just stick to OS now.
Am really disappointed that JackieO has gone, though. I feel like we've lost a favourite common-sense auntie. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.11 -
Without the OS sense of community I Think I'd be long gone. The speed at which the posts update is getting on my tits as I cannot believe that I'm typing too fast. But I feel I owe the OS community some support so I'm sticking with it. I guess like that brexit argument, you can't influence it if you're not in it.
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?5 -
What is pprd?6

I wondered that too WONDERCOLLIE!
I use an aging phone and an only sllghtly less aging laptop and, using Chrome, I have had no bother accessing MSE. That doesn't mean I like the new format but I can at least access it without problem. I gave it a try on IE out of nosiness and experienced the overprinting that some folk have complained about. Like others Old Style is the only reason I come onto MSE these days. I like the community spirit on here compared to other forums with all the back biting that goes on."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
I use Safari without problem as well. Haven't used IE for years now.

But agree, they have lost a lot of functionality, and I find myself using it less as a result.4 -

It can be temporary or permanent.
It's described in MSE rules.9
