A sadness that so many OS stalwarts aren't here now isn't it?

I got a two week ban end of Jan ( for pointing out a poster was a serial compensation hunter, very politely I might add ) which was supposed to have been lifted on the 14th, it wasn't . It got lifted after I emailed the team on the 17th and yet I still have PPR under my name
To be perfectly honest, I'm not prepared to beg. Seeing the PPR is a red rag to some so perhaps change your AE? QueenOfUlster has a certain ring to it.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -

Given that you seem to be engaged in the same battles as me to get to grips with the new site, any hints you can pass on about how to put in an avatar of a picture you want? I'm one of the members who uses an old style apple i-pad, therefore can only see these pages by having JavaScript turned off. To turn it on to thank people means a six step series of actions, hence my lack of thanks by clicking buttons.
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?5 -
Managed (at last) to log in but had to do so as a complete newbie. I was getting very annoyed as it kept telling me I needed to reset my password but every attempt brought up an looped message telling me to try again! Desperation lead to creating a new email address and username and lots of emails to MSE Towers! But persistence paid off and I finally arrived . . . Only to find a sadly diminished OS forum with lots of valued stalwarts missing in action!
Newly retired and looking forward to
a fulfilling, positive & happy future.5 -

My last permanent ban was lifted once it was shown that a member was targeting me. Thankfully she posted to another member admitting to it and that member sent it to me ( off site ) so my permanent ban was lifted. However Im on last warning again so looking another pretty soon and when that happens Ill not come back. MSEs system of PPRd is so flawed, they encourage you to hit the report button for the slightest infringement and the slightest infringement will result in a banI feel the same, Suki. If/when I'm PPR'd (again), I'll re-register and bookmark threads to keep up with the news but won't bother posting. The whole 'vibe' of MSE appears to have disappeared. There seems to be little of interest being posted, loads of complaints about the new look of the forum.Over on DT they're busy chuntering about the loss of the 'Thanks' button.

In spite of all the downside things I still think these OS pages are really useful for keeping in touch, keeping a finger on the pulse of what's happening in the real world and finding other points of view on things which helps put most things into perspective. I'd really miss them if they weren't here.11

I think it is a shame that some posters have left. I only really look at OS and the Health and Beauty section these days but it does seem more quiet on here now.
I find the new look forum quite clunky and awkward. I find multi-quoting more difficult as well.6 -

I don't post on those now either.I wasn't a subscriber to the 'Challenges', 'Daily...', 'Weekly ...' etc threads.I did originally post on JackieO's 'love food, hate waste' thread but didn't keep up with it after a few months.I'm not like a lot of posters who know other users and class them as friends.I'm probably a very atypical poster on OS.7

It'll pick up again. By all accounts there was no choice but to upgrade the site and it was bound to have some casualties. I don't think it's that awful, TBH. I'd like a few more emojis, but I expect they will come and find the thanks a bit confusing as you can't easily see when you've thanked someone.
New people will join to replace those who've gone.
I wanna be in the room where it happens7
