A sadness that so many OS stalwarts aren't here now isn't it?

I am much the same as singlestep, I dip into MSE usually OS when I have a few minutes, like picking up a magazine. There is always something to learn and there are posters who I class as worth reading, generally you all do more interesting stuff than me!! I miss JackieO and hope VFM will be back soon!!Slightly bitter8

Sadly I don't think we are going to see JackieO again as she has deleted her account. If she does come back, I doubt she'll need to identify herself as her posting style is very idiosyncratic. As is mine
I think usage of the site would build up again much faster if we can see who is online as we did previously. It felt like we could have a proper online discussion - what we have now has a "pen pal" quality to it and that just kills our momentum. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.9 -

If people have been put off posting and contributing for good, we all lose out. Hopefully a solution can be found.
Thank you to all of you who have contributed, past or present.

All experience is welcome so don't spare us your thoughts! Avoiding mistakes that have cost others is arguably more useful that learning new tricks on thrift. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I'm not a prolific poster but ihave enjoyed being here. But much less so now, this format is very slow and clunky.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back6 -
Every so often the powers that be, make changes, and we seem to lose SO many posters. I used to be a regular on the crafts thread, they mixed it in with occassions and its seldom used now. I really hope that doesnt happen to the old style board, as its the one place i still log in for7

Even after a few weeks, it still doesn't seem the same, this new layout.
I shall keep coming here though. I like the conversations, banter, debates, talking to people from all walks of life. Learning new things.
After I had been coming on here a few years, I get to see the same posters coming back, hearing about their lives, families, what they are having for dinner, their jokes, plans, worries, bucket lists even their departures from this mortal coil RIP.
You see some posters disapear, maybe reappear under a different name, whatever happened to PersonOne, who used to be a regular
Stick around, you see everything on here, and hopefully participate in it a little. Loads has changed in my own life since I joined MSE - I am barely the same person I was back then. Initially I started coming on here for food coupons, and help with money saving, but it became something else, somewhere I could ask a question, and talk through issues.
I hope people keep coming.
