A day off today, so a long to-do list.I need to shop - and soon, as there's only enough milk left for one more cup of tea!! I'll see how much I need to get, and what the weather's like, and if a) there's not much and b) it's not raining, I'll walk across to Aldi rather than driving. It's only about a 1/4 of a mile away - far enough if it's wet and you're carrying heavy bags, but if I can save a bit of petrol that's got to be A Good Thing.I've got a bit of paperwork to do - exOH and I need to open a new bank account, and he's coming over tomorrow to sign the documents.I need to paint a wall in the lodger's sitting room - I'm meeting a potential new lodger tomorrow, and I've been putting the painting off for far too long. Just get on with it woman!!And at the moment I'm still in bed. Right - time to get up and get on.Have a good Friday everyone.xxNo longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...5

Morning folks!
Dawn - I hope you're feeling better today.
DNMS - enjoy your "you time"
Managed a fairly good sleep again last night and woke up about 8-ish so I'm catching up gradually! I need to investigate a very very tiny pool of water (like the size of a 10p!) that has appeared in the utility room. I think that it might be where the hose that runs to the outside tap is touching the new boiler condensate pipe and there's condensation forming on the outside and dripping off. If that's the case, there's not much I can do other than insulate the hose. - dagnammit. It's coming from one of the pipes where there's a screw joint. Means I'll have to contact the LA.
I other fun news, I have my smear test booked in for today. If anyone is putting theirs off then let this be a kick up the seat of the trousers for you!!
Not much other than the usual MSE things today. Still trying to get to grips with the heating. Our bedroom is like a furnace so I think I'm going to have to turn the radiator down/off! Need to carry on tidying round the house too. I'm hoping that the LA/LL will come back soon about the possibility of me sorting the paint/holes in the utility room so that I can get everything straightened out again.
Have a good one all

Rice pudding is a staple at mine, but it's been a while - might make tomorrow. As my fridge freezer is almost empty even after going well over budget this month, all foods have been carefully munched, so I had to invent a butternut, chicken, soybean and cherry tomato bake spiced w allspice, turmeric and paprika w rice. It came out really well. And pancakes and ice cream for pudding except nobody wanted ice cream, so just crepes w maple sirup. We are a very childish lot.
SO today I will repay my ds the money I loaned on his Rev0lut card over Christmas, order my own Rev0lut card to save up for the summer, and make a shopping list.
Technically I'm at work, but I'm not feeling very productive.
I'm trying to switch down my car insurance, but it looks like it will take me 6 month to cover the early notice fee on my current insurance. I want to ask my friend to put her name on the car to save money, but I feel it might be a bit out of order, as I'm not a great driver.

Morning allFeeling more positive today, though I woke up with a sore throat
I am sure you are right Ziggy, the never ending cold and wet does get you down, and it is difficult to feel optimistic about current affairs, the climate etc too.
You dinner sounds nice Ditty!Anyway, it isn't raining at the moment, and hopefully it will hold off so that I can put the bedding out on the line to blow around a bit, even if it is only for an hour!I have:Usual HG fruit with breakfast, not much left now, though I did notice some raspberries when I was looking for fish earlierGeneral tidy roundLoad of washing, waiting for it to finishSorted my seed tin out, listed what I have (don't need to buy any more), pulled out some old pea and beetroot seed, and have sown them in pots for pea shoots and micro leaves respectively. If they grow, I will have salad leaves, if not, nothing lost!Cut the rest of the lettuce and composted the remains, cut some little chard leaves and watered the plants to see if they will produce more.Lunch will be pate, cheese, salad bits, chutney and more of my strange pesto loaf.Dinner will be fish pie made from freezer fish and leftover mashed potatoI need to inspect the fruit bowl as the apples I bought in Lidls the other day weren't great. Might need to make them into a crumble before they go off.Might go to look at my sales unitAnd if I do, go along to Sainsburys, as I need potatoes (the ones in Lidls were green and didn't look nice, so I didn't buy them), freezer bags and cream, which I forgot the other day and I use spoonfuls of it in all kinds of recipes, I usually have a little pot of it in the fridge - and nothing else. Apart from a decent box, which I will be needing to post an ebay item, but they put these out for customers just to take.5 -
Hi guys 👋
Still on housework strike while baby sleeps here.😁 I need to take out the rubbish and recycling but hubby is finishing work at 4 today so I can do it when he gets in as it'll still be light at that time...or he can do it.😁
@DawnW - glad you're feeling more positive today 👍 Hope the sore throat doesn't lead to anything more serious!
A wee day at home for us so pretty money-saving there...although I'm sure my online spending habit is more serious than my real-life spending one. 🤣 Don't need anything today so all good.
🌈Need to sort out two returns to take to the post office tomorrow🤑
🌈Defrosting something for tomorrow night's dinner - less take away temptation when you're organised 😜
🌈Batch cooking tonight
🌈Reading free kindle book
🌈Going to do flexible working form for work!!
🌈Declined a lunch invite I'm not too bothered about - £20 saved I guess by not doing something I didn't really want to do in the first place😊
🌈Make a loaf for veggie sausage sandwiches tomorrow
🌈Going to list something for sale - didn't get round to it yesterday
Oh well, the weekend is approaching 🍷🍻🍸 - that's me remembering the good ol' days 🤣 - catch up with you tomorrow4 -
