Hi Frugalistas,
Good of you to post all that 'new forum help', Ally. I shall know where to look if I find I can't do something.
This week's money saving activity will be focused around the following:
*Using up. As in shopping from home as much as possible, particularly eating from the freezer & basing next week's meal plans on what's in the freezer too.
*Researching 2 or 3 large photo albums which will be suitable for keeping my big collection of vintage family photos safe..... also acid-free envelopes for the antique ones to preserve them. Am currently digitising whole collection too.
*Progress greenhouse tasks & seed sowing.
*Make list of all the home improvement tasks which we are capable of doing ourselves, as many can be done before builder month arrives.
*Continue to keep all aspects of our budget up to date & accurate.
*Progress my two current knitting projects.
*Free fitness getting out on my bike. Haven't ridden it for ages & weather has been too dodgy this past week.
*I am also aiming to do a minimum of 5 things from my 'Annoying Jobs' list this week.
Feel quite motivated actually.

Oh gang, I forgot my other bit of exciting news - OH is having a clear out! As in, clearing out the loft and selling online...stuff that's been in boxes since 2011! 😁7

Afternoon allJust grabbing a coffee before it is time to take the dog outLa E, I think you are absolutely right not beating yourself up about doing housework while your baby is asleep. Have a break yourself! Seriously, the housework will still be there when she is grown up and left home - though of course she will bring her own babies round to mess things up again 😄Only rains every now and again so far today, so I have managed to get a bit of washing mostly dried on the line outside (it is still pretty windy)Other things:Cooked fruit from freezer with breakfastTook some new stock to my sales unit and tidied up. Still not really full, so I will take a few more things down later in the week. Must sort some bits out.Took a package containing books sold to webuybooks to the collection point. Only just over £9, but happy with that for 5 paperbacks that I didn't want to keepBit of shopping at the Spar shop which serves as the collection point - not the cheapest but I only wanted a few things, and I was there anywayPosted an ebay itemHoovered round downstairsHad a use up sandwich for lunchBrought in some firewood for laterPut bin out, hope it doesn't blow away!Dinner will be pesto pasta - home made pesto from the freezer (I made loads from my huge basil plantation in pots in the greenhouse), so a very cheap dinner, with value pasta and hard Italian cheese from Mr S.I need to triage the fridge, sort out some more sales items and walk the dog.I will then be lighting the fire, locking the back gate and staying in!

La E - There is nothing on the domestic front that gladdens the heart more than OHs deciding to have a clear-out! There's one going on here, too. Admittedly there is more of it going on in the room with his vast AV collection than there is in the loft, but everything starts with one small step. I hold all the cards where the loft is concerned. All I need to do is threaten to go up the ladder & do it myself & he will be shinning up there like Sir Ranulph Fiennes minus the crampons!

Evening all. Lovely French teacher installed in spare room which is not really spare as it's my son's and he is home from uni, but he is only complaining a little bit and tomorrow when he gets the money back I borrowed over Christmas he will be even quite fine with the couch for a couple of days.
I think our big holiday outing will be a trip to the cinema to see Parasite tomorrow. (any Vue voucher suggestions). Big city will have to wait. Im off work for the next 3 days and once I have dropped off my car to MOT tomorrow I don't really have to do anything else. Except maybe cinema, still pending MOT outcome.
NSD is not doing well, because of the visitor and just a slight lack of planning! Nothing outrageous though.
Will write (try to)2 job applications tomorrow and bake some bread, walk dog and cook dinner for 8 people, shopped for it for £10 ish so should be ok.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Morning frugal pals. Thanks for starting us off @ziggy2407
yesterday was a lovely day spent relaxing and then out in the afternoon using our membership passes and we had a decent walk. Did spend in a cafe, but only 1 hot drink and 2 cakes between 4 of us. So not too bad considering. Had roast for tea as we deferred from Sunday when we ate leftovers so we’re a meal ‘extra’ on the plan 😃
today will look like this:
meals from stores
pop to town where I have an appointment to look for something. Will use our free coffee and cake vouchers when we are there between the 4 of us.Washing, dry on airer
clean through
check banking
reconcile just for points CCSew another item, did 2 repairs yesterday.Film from free TV and snuggles under the blankets later
Have a good day all. Purps.5
