Morning all
Paid stuff for me, just making a cuppa. Before I started work I did dailies, s/s bathroom, emptied, washed and refilled litter trays and WM x 1
Just 2 more days after today of bathroom fitter, hopefully next week will be a return to normality. House is not looking too bad, some areas are requiring attention but ok as long as you don’t look too closely!
raining yet again here, take care all x11 -
please please can I have a kick up the bum. Moping a lot today. Kiddies will have to watch TV as all I want to do is curl up in bed and feel a bit sorry for self. On the plus side I've done a load of washing, and the obligatory school hols dentist and barber trips. Also visited Lidl for the weeks shop, £32 go me 🥳🥳.!!!!!!. I knew this would be hard and my rollercoaster is on a downward dip today for sure x11

I've finally dealt with one of the frogs - costing me £30 a month to do so, but it's taken weeks to actually get through to HMRC to do so. It's as if they didn't actually want to be paid. There's apparently a Recorded Delivery letter waiting for me at the Post Office, but I'm not expecting anything, so it's bothering me, as unsolicited RD items are rarely things you actually want to receive.
But I don't think I can put it off anymore, so I'm getting dressed and heading across the road to get it, then time for a bit of note bashing before choir this evening.
I've had absolutely zero GUAG so far this half term. It's almost amusing how Himself is delicately suggesting I do things when his default position is entirely static. But I am still waking up at stupid o'clock every day, so at least i won't have to deal with readjusting my bodyclock next Monday.
Roll on BST.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll10 -
ASB I will willingly administer a kick up the bum if you're sure that's what's needed; but I wonder if standing on top of the nearest hill and screaming at the top of your lungs might not be more therapeutic?Car is in for service today, so we have a courtesy car. Manual transmission; so I can't drive it, and DH is struggling. Don't get me wrong, we're both licensed to drive manual as well as auto; but my left knee won't tolerate me using a clutch; and DH's tremor in his left hand is making gear-changing "interesting". Still, it's just for today - in fact he's just set off to return it and pick up our own car. We managed to get to Morries and Aldee, so it's "mission accomplished" re grocery shopping. I have to go into town tomorrow; need to collect meds and get F&V from the market. Could've got the meds today, but would still need F&V tomorrow as there's no market on a Wednesday, so decided to just do the two SMs today.Have also hand-washed a heap of underwear; just waiting for enough space to become available on the A-frames to put it up to dry. I hate this horrible weather where you can't just chuck everything on the whirligig to dry.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)10

ASB - I'm with Wolfy - screaming might work. When you're down/moping think back to what you have left behind you - now might not be brilliant but it's better than what was.
Anyway I have managed to get the tush in gear - kitchen - done bathroom - done - DS's room rubbish cleaned and floor cleared ready for vacuuming. Landing dusted; currently half way round bedroom and I am cheering myself on as I am doing a good job but I've just broken off to construct SW quiche and get it in the oven. Once I have done my room I'm going to vacuum all carpeted rooms upstairs. Then, hopefully, the stairs themselves. Rubbish has gone out into bin; recycling likewise, and stuff has been dropped off at chazzer when I went to post a couple of cards then hand deliver a birthday card. Dried/ironed washing has gone away too and towels etc in WM ready to go. Am v. proud of self.

Thank you ladies. I've had a nap instead, will take some parrots then head back to bed at 7pm when the children go to bed. I think my internalised stress is making me exhausted, so I'm listening to my body xx
I'd be lost without you guys right now 😍10 -
Evening all
Hugs ASB, some wise words from the others x
Paid stuff finished, I’ve just started another wash load that will then be TD, plumber needs water off tomorrow to install new shower so probably won’t get to do a load then.
Handyman friend of plumber booked on Saturday to repair our fence before the next storms make it worse. Asked neighbour if she wanted a quote for her side but apparently her BF is going to do it. I hope it will be quite soon as the entire thing is down and it’s mostly over my garden! I think DH and I will wrestle some of the broken panels back on to her side on the weekend, it’s beyond saving but will check with her what she wants done with them before moving.
Im rather tired this evening, I think the agenda will be supper, clean up and then curl up with a book again.
Have a nice evening x9 -
tea eaten; my bedroom cleaned and all upstairs rooms vacuumed and stairs done too. 10 minutes in the hall and that'll be completed.

Wow, good work Valli. Hugs for ASB.
Between shifts today, I cleaned all the mirrors in the house and shelled a load of monkey nuts to go in my muesli.
Spoke to a client today whose daughter has just died. Feeling a bit low now as there is absolutely nothing I can do or say to alleviate any of their distress.
Tomorrow is another day.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
It's a nightmare, but it had to be done and the team OH has put together is great. It's just very tiring. Today I put a more work into getting the outdoor privy usable again (I've only ever seen that kind of thing on the Shitshifters, or whatever the programme was called) which has taken several hours so far, and continuing with washing down paintwork. It's revolting. All of it.Glad your flood defences are up to the job, Dizzy, and lovely to see you back again Skint. (I realise you've probably been back for months, I'm a bit behind.) Sounds as though you're making great progress Round. Good on you.Better is good enough.8
