So sorry for my prolonged absense; lots going on in RL and I'm barely standing by the end of the day. Today I am carrying on cleaning the house next door which it was necessary to buy because the hideous neighbours behind us wanted it which would have made life here untenable. The clinically depressed recluse who lived there for 22 years loathed them, fortunately for us, but it needs a lot of work. Damp (rising and penetrating, rats, filth, rot, 'insect infestation' as the surveyor put it, asbestos tiles on the roof - you name it, we're going to have to deal with it. And it's listed which makes life very complicated. However, we've got good builders and it's not the first house either of us had to restore but it is without doubt the absolute worst. I'm responsible for cleaning, polishing the banister when it's all finished, and the garden - which like the house hasn't had anything done to it for a good 30 years. (The previous owners were absentee landlords.)

Back to the paid stuff for 4 days, so minimum flying will be done chez Roundtuit. Dad flew home yesterday and phoned to ask me to call after work today. B is in Spain for another two weeks. So, I'll be late(r) home tonight.

Just popping in to say hello. DD2 home for a week and we have several appointments so not sure when I'll get to pop in here. Only working Monday and Thursday this week and next so hoping that will give me some more time for flying, especially next week as this week is going to be dominated by laundry. DD2 has come home with 4 weeks washing, she has worn everything she owns, winter, summer etc.
TD is also on the blink and I seem to be the only member of the family who can nurse it in to action. I've warned OH that if it stops for me I'm going straight out to get another so busy comparing condenser or heat pump models. Any comments welcome, it lives in an outbuilding if that changes anything.
Dentist for me, osteopath for DD2 and then vet for cats so will be pottering around most of the day
DW emptied and kitchen reasonable tidy
Bed made and clothes picked up
Scurrying off to put WM on again and then HHI
Hugs & spoons where needed and don't forget to smile.

Morning all
I had a cheeky lie in, as no work or school today. I’m trying to get to grips with a book that my sister gave me for Christmas. The jury’s still out on whether it is worth my effort to pursue, still it gave me the excuse of a lie in.
The ensuite toilet has decided to play games, so won’t stop refilling. It is behaving atm, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
I’ve just made a dreaded phone call to the horsepiddle - took 5 minutes and spoke to a very nice lady. Kerching - off my list. More phone calls to make later, but I am putting them off in true Fayolle procrastination manner.
Off to do a bit of painting now - part of DH’s construction in the spare room.
Have a lovely day all.11 -

Paid stuff for me again today. Just making a cuppa...
before work started I did my dailies, s/s of bathroom and downstairs loo and a quick vac of both flights of stairs with the handheld vac. Supper for tonight is prepped and in the fridge so I should have time for a little more fluttering once work is done.
Have a good day all x11 -

One of my increasingly rare visits to MSE.... Not liking the new format one bit, particularly the inability to turn off PMs, which I had done on the old forum.Have had Bessie Spaniel here for two weeks, so time has been occupied with her - she needs a LOT of exercise, and gets absolutely filthy every time whe sets paw in the mudbath that is currently our back garden. So I've spent a good deal of time on my hands and knees washing Spaniel paws, legs and undercarriage, and then washing muddy towels. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)12

From what I've read, heat pumps are expensive, unreliable and double the time it takes to dry a standard load compared to condensers. I've never had any problems with my cheap as anything 9 year old Indesit condenser, which gets pretty heavy use, particularly in winter.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll12
