I'm still unpacking and organising, plus getting the gardens done, some inside tasks done and doing it round my FT job 🙈🙈

Feels like a month off is needed when moving!

I had a call the other day from my lender to check if I had any questions or concerns, make sure I received their welcome letter, tell me about how the first and subsequent payments work and say to contact them if my situation changes during this climate or in the future and they will help me through it.

The call lasted nearly 30 minutes, but 25 of that was just chatting about life, moving, our homes (he had purchased a few months before and moved up the ladder), plus working from home compared to the office. Think it did us both some good to have outside contact and chat compared to normal.

The 1st will soon be here @renfirsttimebuy don't get booking any trades people in to do anything, settle in before making any decisions as you may change your mind.

Good luck for the 1st @renfirsttimebuy it’s such a relief when they finally call to say the keys are yours!

We didn’t have much stuff to unpack so we’re crammed into the 2nd bedroom with everything we own! We’ve ripped out the master bedroom, electrician coming next weekend, plasterer week after. The most tedious part is cleaning the house up and changing addresses with every man and their dog! Takes up so much time.

I have made an instagram page to follow the renovation (sycamorerenovation) but I’m not sure if I can post that on here or if anyone would be interested? I can edit the post if not allowed.
  • It's so lovely to hear from you both! @MovingForwards I hope garden comes along well. The weather is prefect for garden time! I can't help but talk to trades people it's like I'm obsessed with the move!!! LOL in the house we artex so we are thinking of getting that removed before we move in. That will include plastering. Now we are told that if we are thinking of lighting to do it now or we may need to plaster again!

@120624 the renovation sounds great! I can't wait to see what you do to your home.

Gardens are coming along nicely. Got high winds today so I'm inside and unpacking!

You are obsessed now? Wait til you move in and make even more plans, then plans on top of plans, then change them, change again, think of something else.....!!
