Hi all - Just found this thread on here. My smart meter monitor just packed up on Saturday morning for no reason and is doing the whole cycling through power up/trying to get data/connection and not working. I've emailed E.on but have not yet heard back from them.0

Mine hasn't recovered yet. It's strange that it had started working again for a while.
Interestingly, my Dad had a smart meter fitted by eon yesterday. It looks exactly the same as mine and it's working fine. How come? Surely they should all be down?
I quizzed the engineer who suspected that the communications part of my meter could be faulty and said that eon are passing the buck by blaming DCC. He suggested lodging a complaint with eon which would ensure that something gets done.

I think it's time to contact OfGen to ask how much they know of the issue, as soon claim it's an industry wide issue. Might cure the porkies from eon0

We're collecting data from your meters dailyData from your smart meter helps us to understand when you use your energy and how much you're using. It means we can create new tariffs in the future tailored to your needs, and give you more personalised energy saving advice. You can change how often we collect this information
You can do this at anytime online or give us a call. We recommend allowing us to collect data from your meter every half-hour as this gives us a more detailed picture of your energy use. If you'd like to find out more or to see your data records please let us know.Keeping your meter and in-home display up to date
We occasionally send updates to your meter and in-home display to keep them up to date. We don't need to visit your home to carry out these updates but we do need you to keep your in-home display plugged in and switched on.Making sure your meter is safe
Although we take your meter readings electronically now, we'll still need to come and check your meter every so often to make sure it's working as it should.Getting the most out of your in-home display
Your in-home display shows you how much energy you're using and what it's costing you. There's lots of other things you can do like set an alert to warn you when you've used a certain amount of energy or compare your energy use across the week, month or year. Find out more.
Well i've changed in my preference to Daily collection, not too keen on the every half-hour for security reasons if my smart meters were hacked. There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:WARNING ! May go silent for unfriendly repliesPlease excuse me Spell it MOST times:A UK Resident :A0
