Send a complaint to Transport Focus (Google them) and to the Train Operating company, telling this story and tell them you are astonished that they allow VCS, a truly nasty, aggressive and litigious ex-clamper firm, to unfairly fine you for an emergency situation where a rail traveller was harassed and intimidated by a man on her train and was scared for her safety.  Tell them VCS have not given any consideration to the passenger's safety and the circumstances and offer no appeal that can ever work for consumers (IAS is not independent) and is this really the sort of situation where TF and the TOC think a person is fair game to be sued?
My partner was travelling back late from London on the train. We had planned to meet down the road at the McDonalds.
She then called to tell me she had been approached on the train by a main that showed her a naked photo of himself on his phone (in her face so she could not look away). He then proceeded to ask her in appropriate questions. She ran from the train and wanted to get to safety as soon as possible worried that he may have followed her off the train. For this reason (an emergency) I did pull up directly outside the station to collect her.
Once again this WAS an EMERGENCY.
This is the first and last time I have collected her from this area and not away from the station.
I feel that as this was an emergency and not a collection or drop off at the airport and not a regular occurrence this was justified and should not be subject to a fine. It was a safety issue.
Please uphold this appeal. When dealing directly with the parking fine issuer they ignore the reason behind the very brief stop and just reiterated that they have CCTV footage and that their are signs. At no point have we disputed this but it was an emergency, very late at night.

    As long as you have

Emailed a SAR to the DPO at VCS to obtain all your data , and

    Complained as detailed earlier

If you were not sitting tight and got up , what exactly would you be doing ? Apart from paying in full ? What choices do you think you have ? What are the people in those other threads doing ? Or not doing ?

    Well the Toc aren't interested....
    Dear Richard

Thank you for your recent email.

I am really sorry you have been unable to appeal your parking fine.

While I am sympathetic to your situation, we have no control over the fines that are issued at the car parks.

I am therefore unfortunately unable to help with the matter.

    Yours sincerely,

As it contained a question mark I am certain it was.  Instead of trying to start a fight do some research, this is a self help forum, help yourself.

They do have control in the contract they signed with VCS...they are the principal, and VCS just a contractor, and the client can almost always cancel - and if they can't, they were stupid to sign the contract!
