    No access to those pics.

I tried to tell you, and I am sure others have too, that the parking company has no right, indeed no agreement with the DVLA, to seek the keeper's details from them for a claimed breach of a no stopping order.

The parking company certainly cannot claim that, having read the signs, you agreed to enter into a contract to pay them £100 (or whatever the figure is). Did you realise that obligation at the time?

None of them are facing oncoming traffic.  A driver has to stop to read signs at right angles.  And none of those low ones are lit (was it dark?) and none of them show £100 or evidence of a contract...

As an evidence exhibit I'd be putting in the POPLA Annual report section  from a few years back, about No Stopping Zones needing signs FACING drivers.  All the POPLA Annual Reports are hosted by POPLA, and you want the 'No Stopping Zones' section of the Chief Adjudicator's First Annual POPLA Report 2013:

"It is therefore very important that any prohibition is clearly marked; bearing in mind that such signage has to be positioned, and be of such a size, as to be read by a motorist without having to stop to look at it. Signs on red routes, unlike those indicating most parking restrictions, are generally positioned to face oncoming traffic, rather than parallel to it."
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The photos are low Res and it does show £100 fines on them. I will upload the high Res ones tomorrow.

But they are not facing oncoming traffic so drivers would have to stop to read them.

This sort of no-stopping trap scam was ALSO mentioned by Sir Greg Knight, sponsor of the Bill in 2018:

    https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2018-02-02/debates/CC84AF5E-AC6E-4E14-81B1-066E6A892807/Parking(CodeOfPractice)Bill

    Sir Greg Knight:

''I certainly would condemn that, and I will share an example with the House shortly of a similar case that I regard as outrageous.

Today, we have the opportunity to tackle this issue. I know that the worst abuses feature in the emails and postbags of all Members of Parliament. Not only my constituents in East Yorkshire but motorists right across the country are angry and calling for action.

One such motorist is Mr O’Keefe. He was driving in a private industrial estate, searching for a particular outlet that he was having difficulty finding, when he stopped in an empty lay-by for 15 seconds to check his satellite navigation settings. It transpired that he was caught by a passing security van equipped with a camera, and a week later he received a ticket for £100 for stopping in breach of a sign situated further back on the road that he had passed at 30 mph. The parking company agrees with his version of events—it accepts that he was stationary for only about 15 seconds—but when he made a complaint and then appealed to the Independent Appeals Service, he was fobbed off in both cases and he continues to receive threatening letters.''

  • You wouldn't class that 2nd sign as facing traffic?
And the 3rd one is directly above a sign that's read by on coming traffic....
  • THE VCS TRAP.

For reasons of safety,  you cannot stop to read signs. The signs cannot be readable by a driver in a moving car.
VCS have not provided any way to read the signs such as a layby.
If you stop, you get charged ???    It is designed entrapment to extort money. This is a bad scam to take to court ..... that's what VCS do for a living ??? FOOLS
  • Ok so my defense is basically the signage is poor because I can't stop to read these signs?
Do I still argue that I shouldn't pay due to the emergency of picking my partner up?
