Absolutely not, judging by what is mobile users are subjected to, this is the view on my phone:

AAARRGGHHH!!!!!! Once again, another of the "great places to be on the internet" gets an userUNfriendly makeover bordering on making it completely and utterly unuseable
When will Devs realise that acres and acres of white/light space is not conducive to being read...........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple10 -

I realise its all personal preference but I find this default pretty unpleasant to look at.

looks absolutely terrible a badly done redesign and so hard to work out where you are on the competition pages. why ruin a site that used to work4

I’m confused with it. Always used the green format. Ah well, never mind, have to get used to it.You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.3

It's here, and it is what it is.
Why not give it a chance?
The developers can quite easily change many of the things that make it awful, to make it a lot less awful, for example numerous people have now pointed out that the current combination of fonts, sizes, colours, contrast, etc, is literally painful to look at with some users getting eyestrain and headaches. That's an easy fix... Just change the default fonts, font sizes, background colours, layout, etc, to more closely resemble the old site.
But unless we keep pointing it out they probably won't bother as they'll wrongly assume it's just resistance to change and we'll get used to it - I have no issue with change but I do have an issue with the current site giving me headaches and eyestrain.

Your concerns should have been addressed by considering accessibility in the design. Mind you, I spend a lot of time telling our UX team that there's too much on the page/I can't find what I need etc and point out that they need to cater for old people like meas they are our target audience. I'm not actually that old (at least, I like to think I'm not!), but they're all very young - I'm a good 15 years old than most of them and my eyesight is just starting to feel it.
