  • Was this redesign mainly aimed at mobile users?

Absolutely not, judging by what is mobile users are subjected to, this is the view on my phone:

Add nested quotes to that and it gets worse, far, far worse.

Profile, edit profile, quote settings, pick how many you want nested, save.

  • I dont mind the colours and even the white space but how do we update our signatures and in the few minutes i have been looking at my bookmarked threads......it seems to go to the beginning of thread instead of the last page. Probably something simple I'm doing wrong?

Well on my desktop version I went to Edit Profile. Signature Settings is the 6th entry on the left.

Is there some theme option I am missing to pick a different theme?
I realise its all personal preference but I find this default pretty unpleasant to look at.
I see this complaint coming up time and time again in the feedback tonight so it's not just me then...

I’m confused with it.  Always used the green format.  Ah well, never mind, have to get used to it.
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

It's here, and it is what it is.
Why not give it a chance?
It's here but it's a pretty horrible user experience compared to the previous site.

The developers can quite easily change many of the things that make it awful, to make it a lot less awful, for example numerous people have now pointed out that the current combination of fonts, sizes, colours, contrast, etc, is literally painful to look at with some users getting eyestrain and headaches.   That's an easy fix... Just change the default fonts, font sizes, background colours, layout, etc, to more closely resemble the old site.

But unless we keep pointing it out they probably won't bother as they'll wrongly assume it's just resistance to change and we'll get used to it - I have no issue with change but I do have an issue with the current site giving me headaches and eyestrain.

I think it's going to be difficult for the team to sort out the 'this is an issue, and this is why it makes the user experience poorer' from the 'I hate it because it's not what I'm used to' posts. I'm not sure what we can do about that.
Your concerns should have been addressed by considering accessibility in the design. Mind you, I spend a lot of time telling our UX team that there's too much on the page/I can't find what I need etc and point out that they need to cater for old people like me ;) as they are our target audience. I'm not actually that old (at least, I like to think I'm not!), but they're all very young - I'm a good 15 years old than most of them and my eyesight is just starting to feel it.
