News is boring this morning... they've moved from talking about the Coronas to ... people whittering about how you can spend your time, or use your dog as a weight to exercise at home and Chris Packham telling people to go into their garden and listen to the birds5
-
Listening to the birds is relaxing, though.
I’ve been putting out live mealworms in anticipation of using them to train a robin or starling to come to my hand for them.
I did that about three years ago, and it was lovely, seeing a bird gradually learn to trust you enough to do that.

I've noticed a general reduction in traffic noise here so I am currently sitting in my bedroom, on the laptop, listening to all the birds calling to one another without the usual background noise of cars.
It's absolute bliss..even if slightly out of the normal. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

The thanks button is annoying me.
To start with, because there aren’t any in the Arms, I forget I can use them here.
Then when I use them, I sometimes forget whether I’ve thanked someone or not, and the only way to find out is to click on it again.
Then, if you have already thanked, clicking on it again results in you unthanking that person, so you then have to click on it yet again, to restore the thanks.
Sigh.
It was so much easier before.
Not having a thanks in The Arms is such a pain. Having a post acknowledged is part of the communication, and wanting to acknowledge someone else’s post as agreement or appreciation is part of the virtual body-language of being on a forum.
The alternative is to create a post, which most of the time isn’t necessary and clogs up the thread.

I need a dab of cream at some point. Just noticed I've got some sores on my left hand near the knuckle from handwashing. I'm not a "beauty regime" person, so cream isn't something I possess.... I'll have to try to remember to keep an eye out for some at some point.
Might pop out today, maybe grab a quiche from 4ldi (Cheapo ones at 4ldi are better IMHO than the L1dl version and cheaper). £1.19 cheese/onion or quiche lorraine. See if I fancy going out in a bit.5 -
So, I've never been in an internet queue to buy dog food before. And it's all out of stock. Is this for when people run out of the human food they've stockpiled?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Eldest son is now classed (if he had children that is) as a key worker as he works in the financial sector. His department has been slammed in recent days from very worried customers scared they will lose their homes due to CV19. He said that right now he feels more like a counsellor and support to the masses than a financial services employee, others are finding that change difficult but for eldest, it is part of his skill set...something that those contacting his company are in desperate need of and are thankful for (he's had so many lovely emails from customers thanking him for his help).
Unfortunately, his particular department is unable to work from home which has left him a little concerned due to his underlying condition but with the majority of the company able to work from home, at least there are a lot less people in the building than there was.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. I have five doughnuts to eat.... but I have an excuse.
It's healthier food than I went into the shop for
I was mulling getting a loaf of bread, but as I approached the aisle a chap had a very dry cough and was coughing ... so I turned round. Then I got a grip and talked to myself and said "Go and have another go/see what they've got". I turned into the aisle to observe the same man mulling his choices by gripping many bags.
I headed for the pack of doughnuts and thought "Oh well, a loaf is a lot to get through in any case"
I got a brain spin trying to get out of the shop next.... two aisles I tried to get to the tills via were blocked by official pickers... had to settle my brain and try the next ... and the next. Few customers, Sainsburys was mostly staff - and OMG how that burgundy colour creates brain-blocking blocks of colour when there are so many staff present. I'm used to just seeing, say, half a dozen staff/shop, there must've been 100 of them in there this morning! All wearing the same colours.
The till finished me off ... it all went wrong in self service ... I'd picked one that was card only and I had no idea... and it all was going wrong, so I grabbed the bag and just left the machine and went to a till. The man there said it's cash on one side, cards on the other.
I'd had enough by then and just came home to count my spoons.5
