Such a shame it’s just a metaphor. Otherwise, the mental health crisis could be solved just by buying more spoons.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?7 -
Good to hear from you Nikks, so sorry you have disappointing health news.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Lovely to see you again Nikks but begger on the latest news.
PN, I know the spoons saying, right now I am in minus spoons but then this is my version of a weekend after working all week. This next week is going to be a challenge, dad has an operation tomorrow so it will be an early start and all day at the hospital and then with extra hours etc, my next day off will be next Friday (sounds like a lot of hours but it is an hour here, 2 hours there spread over the week)...I may have to resort to energy drinks at some point just to keep me upright and sort of going. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.6 -

The fact is ... it's one of those houses with textured wallpaper and swirly ceilings (with a few minor cracks) and coving all round... so, if one doesn't just do it all.... take down all that wallpaper, skim where necessary - and sort out every ceiling ... it'll always just feel "pointless" to do many things as it'll feel like putting lipstick on a pig.
It's not out of the question, if I can just find a ballpark figure of: How much, how long, would that take then?
It won't be 2 blokes 2 days £1k..... will it. But how long, how much.
I arrived early and parked up the road, to check the agent really did have another viewing before me (his lips moved, so I had no reason to trust him). There was indeed a viewing previous to mine.
Depending on how swirly the ceilings are, a good quality lining paper could cover it.
What about the rest, though......the parking, the road itself, the neighbours, the general ‘feel’?
The quality of the kitchen units, bathroom, the gardens........how were they?

By the way, those olives I mentioned a few days ago......... just been eating some of the ones with chilli and they are yummy!
They really livened up some rather bland mozzarella cheese balls.

It's so hard to choose when you're not mulling over "the perfect one".7 -
Hi Nikkster, lovely lady
I managed to accidentally switch on notifications for this thread so I've had about 20 emails just this morning. I've had to quite quickly learn to switch them off again! I think it's the little bookmark tag when you're on a desktop as it was blue but now it isn't. I'll find out soon enough! No idea how I did it from my phone. It's a handy little feature if you've started a thread.
Good luck, PN. It does look like a lot of house for the money.
We accepted an offer on our house about three weeks ago so we've got two moves to make this year. Renting whilst we finish our self build and then back here, but 30 metres away.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
