Struggling to get my head round this one - not heard of a ‘night kitchen’ before.  Is it for sleepwalkers?!?

I thought a night kitchen was a small area with enough room to make yourself a horlicks or camomile before bed. Clearly this is a posh version.
Night kitchens generally are posh!  They idea behind them is to give householders with servants basic facilities for the period 'out of hours', when the servants have gone to bed or left for the day if they don't live in.  The night kitchen will be used for making tea and coffee and, if necessary, reheating an evening/late meal prepared and pre-cooked in the main kitchen by the cook during working hours.  How the other half live!

I don't like it - but it's a lot of property for the price, even in Chorley!

I don't like it either. And that beautiful 1930's jobber has been removed by the agent....
I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.

Meanwhile in Edinburgh, an Edwardian kitchen (and various other unmodernised features):

Oddly, not one but two modern kitchens installed upstairs (and smatterings of other modernisations), while the ground floor seems untouched despite the last resident obviously needing a stairlift.
I'd love to know the story of this house.  It does seem so odd that the ground floor is so unloved but the upper floors have been lived in.  No bathroom on the second floor is also strange.  The potential for eight people to be using one shower room?

You can imagine what it would be like with a good dollop of hopefully sympathetic restoration. Deep pockets

Absolutely (and being Edinburgh, you'd see the money back). It's gorgeous.... :)
