Even with old buildings hit by the window tax, they had the ability to paint fake ones into the blanks. Like going to the Moon, we seem to have 'lost the technology.'SadieO said:
Is the window tax back? I wouldn't put anything past this government[Deleted User] said:
I'd love to know what went wrong here. As well as the windows, look where the doorbell has been placed.

I've seen this 'feature' on a number of new builds. Perhaps the designers think they look better than a blank wall.SadieO said:

- No less than 5 utility pits in the garden
- The missing windows
- The teeny tiny windows
- The doorbell
- No perimeter fence
- No car charger
- The dropped kerb for no reason
- Looks okay size until you realise it's two micro houses stuck together
- Waist high vents are always a good idea
- The porch light is blocked by the port supports
- The porch itself was the cheapest un-enclosed option
- No solar
It should be illegal to build stuff this bad.4 -
What an odd thing to do! Reminds me a bit of clothes manufacturers going to the effort of putting fake pockets onto women's jeans, which is probably an annoyance for another thread!Silvertabby said:

Good observations! I was so distracted by the fake windows I didn't even register the ridiculous size of the actual ones. This gets worse the longer I look at it. Anyone know how much it is for this beauty?[Deleted User] said:

This one was on the Sarah Beeney ‘double your money’ programme a few years back.Sold for 900k June 2012, was ‘Beeney-fied’ and sold for 1.95m January 2016. In fact she was quite scathing of the work they were doing and wasn’t optimistic they would double their money, but I guess if you wait long enough house prices do eventually catch up.
Now on the market for 2.3m, already reduced from 2.5m after only 2 weeks on the market.
Particular attention to picture 4, the small back garden containing a swimming pool that looks to be the width of the slide. Could be a re purposed duck pond.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

I wonder how one rises up from a sunken bath whilst maintaining one's dignity? Crawling out onto your hands and knees, even when alone, would negate any feelings of luxury for me and I don't think I could simply hoist myself up from one leg. The ancients had the good sense to have a few maids on hand but not sure I could run to that..silvercar said:This one was on the Sarah Beeney ‘double your money’ programme a few years back.Sold for 900k June 2012, was ‘Beeney-fied’ and sold for 1.95m January 2016.
