6 bedroom detached house for sale in Saughtree Station, Newcastleton, Roxburghshire, TD9 (rightmove.co.uk)

Does anyone fancy a house complete with diesel locomotive? A lovely area to live as well.
At around 200m and so long and thin it would be expensive to heat, but I know someone who'd love that!

And only 366m of track. Not enough to get up to full speed.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

The novelty of driving a diesel shunting wagon up and down that short track would soon wear off.

    Brilliant!!

Reminds me of when someone scrached the legend 'SLAPPER' on the paintwork of a car around the corner from where we used to live. I'd have loved to have heard the backstory.
Keep in mind that the owner might have been hounded out of their home by false accusations and vandalism or worse.

It's also possible that someone living there is a criminal and now locked up, and their family is being forced to leave because of their actions.

It's probably not a very funny story.
True.  That comment did remind me of the Doctor who had "peedo" spray-painted on their house, by a bunch of yobs who were too thick to realise that 'paedophile' and 'paediatrician' weren't the same thing.

But that still leaves the question - why wasn't it painted over?

You'd think, but the human psyche is a complex thing. I know of someone who goes to the station each day to put suitcases and an old truck on the platform, just to increase the authenticity of passengers' experience on the steam train that runs on the line. In the late afternoon, following the last steam of the day, he returns and puts them in again.

According to the blurb you do get security of tenure and a lot of extras. On the down side, it  appears that part of Yorkshire is short on Wolds."In the heart of a charming village on the edge of the Yorkshire Wold..."
Anyway McNabbit and Stoned....say no more!
