All that water wasted in one of the driest parts of California.

I have no idea who wants to live in a desert, anyway, but far more importantly it's a family size home filled with danger for children! It's not just frightful, but actually frightening.

The OP says to dream on, but frankly it's a total nightmare.

I'm the OP, for me it is absolutely stunning, everything I could dream of in a property.

But my interests are, in no particular order:
    Cars
    Fish
    Sun
    Luxury
    Being somewhere that feels remote.

So I guess it kind of fits my wants and desires and to my eyes the architecture is absolutely incredible with all those straight lines and a design that blocks out the view of your neighbours.

I do agree about the over indulgence with water in a place that does not have any to spare, but would hope all the water is recycled on site and not wasted.

All my children are grown up, and they can swim. But I have a grandchild, loads and loads of nephews, nieces, and grand-nephews and grand-nieces, and the thought of them being in that death trap .... Anyway, fortunately, I don't have $50m.

When we were younger, my wife and I looked at a house with a pool. It was great, except my wife said that we would have to fill the pool in.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Something I have become familiar with whist selling my house with a 3000 gallon pond!

    Extraordinary indeed!

Wonder if he had Listed Building Consent to do that to those rooms. Going to be a nightmare if he didn't....
Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

I’m not sure whether he has done anything except a very clever paint job? Would that need consent, assuming the panelling was painted previously?

Not sure how welcome this will be on here, a slight change to the usual stuff, it just blew me away, and whilst $50 million is not cheap, compared to the competition (up to $150 million) and compared to some of the £30 million flats up London, this has value for money written all over it.

Sit back and dream for a few minutes:

Stunning property!  Hope it's not near one of the many fault lines in California and at risk of earthquake!
