That's a lovely house. Shame about the sunken bath having gone; it would need to be reinstated if I lived there, but nothing else needs changing!ProDave said:I know this one, I did some work in it about 8 years ago https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/117960917#/?channel=RES_BUYIt started as a traditional cottage but was "modernised" by an architect in the 1980's. It has a half sunken kitchen area and various other quirky features, but it means there are 2 parts of the house on the same level but you can only get between them by descending half a level to the semi sunken level then going back up a different half flight of stairs. When I was there 8 years ago it had it's original coloured bathroom suites, including a sunken bath in the middle of one of the bathrooms, they have gone and been replaced with white now, though the owner at the time said he was going to keep them.
I couldn't live with those weird rounded steps after the stairs. Apart from that, it's a nice place.

I love the quirkiness of the house, but not sure if the corrugated iron roof in photo 50 is part of the house or not. If it is, that will be expensive to change.Ditzy_Mitzy said:

That's a photo of 'The Bothy', which appears to be a separate structure. It looks like a garage or barn that's been converted into a cottage of sorts. It would be up to the new owner as to whether he or she wishes to use it for that, or reinstate the garage. I'd have thought the latter would be a good idea, given the location.Tahlullah.H said:

Advertising your own property? :w:wink:
A friend has just purchased in Scartho for under that price (3 bedroom, driveway, garage) for £155k.
I'd put that property no more than £110k in that area. That road/area is awful (on Street Parking, HMO's galore).3 -
That's why parking is such a nightmare. Local authorities are demanding driveways so people have offroad parking now, since they don't use their garages.greensalad said:
I don't think it's "useless" it's just not what people use garages for anymore. Garage for me is storage for stuff like camping equipment and paint. Not a car.[Deleted User] said:
Yep, that's standard for new builds. The garage is basically useless because a car won't fit in it.
My grandparents used to park their car in their garage and it was such a faff all the time having to open the door and whatnot. I definitely don't want to park a car in a garage.
If they fitted a remote control door people would use their garages more. It just opens when you get home automatically, no faffing about and you can then get out of the car while sheltered from the rain.0 -
Most places I've seen with terrible parking issues don't have garages at all. I'd say 90% of town-centre houses have no garages or driveways where I'm from.[Deleted User] said:

Smart councils have been requiring parking for a while now. Around here all the new builds have had parking for a long time.greensalad said:

As I say, it's only recently that they started demanding driveways. I'm sure the sneaky developers will figure out a way to make them unusable too.0 -
It says 3 bedrooms but that would mean no living room.peter3hg said:This is a weird property. It has been built in the car park of a row of shops. Estate agents photos carefully taken to not show where exactly it is located. Apparently it is "ideally situated".

The front door goes into the living rooms and there a 3 other rooms (excluding kitchen and bathrooms).
