Lateral hobs have been around at least a couple of decades for the design conscious.
Intially high end and expensive but now at all budget levels - see example below

not my idea of “budget” but not outrageous. I’d worry about mishaps with handles sticking out 😁

We have a double ring electric hob. You could easily fit two of those end to end to make a linear hob.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Lovely dog, very nice expression. The house seems like a haven of calm and order and wonderfully clean. I'm a bit puzzled by the madeleine tray displayed between the two wall lights as if it was a piece of art but note the spine of the Shelf Love OTK cookbook which bodes well. Do you suppose having that colour of backsplash disguises the odd grease splatter and grubby mark?

@goldfinches perhaps the madeleine tin is in some way ironic. I inherited a madeleine tin when I was in my 20s. I carted it round from house to house until I was in my 50s. I realised i was never going to make madeleines and put it in the metal recycling along with a whole wheelie bin of slightly rusty baking tins. I still have a cupboard full of baking stuff as well. Is the splashback copper. Not sure what would happen if you actually cooked.
