On Zoopla, there is 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, and 2F Barrington Road. I'm not sure exactly which buildings these are... Though, if I count parts of roofs of the main building plus the two 'sheds', then I get up to F.martindow said:RHemmings said:
D'oh! I forgot to check satelliteJudging by satellite images, they look like sheds at the end of someones garden. Overlooking the railway line & East Ham depot - Lovely (not).

Hmm, Concealed Entrance implies it's trying to fly under the radar, doesn't it?
Both Zoopla and Housemetric give me sold prices back to 1997. For '2D'. Hence, I guess if it was a dodgy build in the first place, it's long enough ago that it's probably safe from planning enforcement. If there are any planning problems. I gave it a quick go to look up past planning applications in that area, but I didn't find a way to do it. (I'm not saying that there isn't a way of doing it).
EDIT: I wasn't familiar with the term 'bed in shed', but it seems that this brings up some cases of illegal outbuildings rented out.0 -
I looked up the planning. Mostly the documents were too old to see but the houses seem to have been built by a housing association, called Ujima Housing Association. The housing association then seemed to have gone bust from an article in the Guardian. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2008/jan/16/housing.communities1

They spent £2.5 million on refurbing their office, which could've have bought/built numerous, decent properties for their tenants and built a solid business. Instead, they bought (query built) these **** holes to rent out. They clearly didn't have a clue how to run an HA. Or anything about letting. I'd love to know how much the original founders earnt per year. Actually, I don't want to know, it would be too depressing.Green_hopeful said:I looked up the planning. It was loads more for any other people. Good housing associations seem to be desperately needed. I don’t know the answer but it’s very sad for people not to have a home.1 -
I know how these EPCs are often not very accurate but it seems to have gone (as the same address) from a detached house , to a first floor flat , to a maisonette and estimated build from 1996-2002 then 1950- 1966, and within a year, a reduced EPC rated from D to E. Quite a feat!Green_hopeful said:Looked better before. I wonder if they have had a flood. https://themovemarket.com/tools/propertyprices/2d-barrington-road-london-e12-6jh

Can you please tell me where and how you found the planning documents?Green_hopeful said:I looked up the planning. I just searched for Manor Park planning. It is in Newham planning. I searched for the postcode in the planning search. Once you find one reference to that property you can click on property history. It didn’t come up straight away but eventually after a bit of clicking I found the planning history.RHemmings said:

I hope the links will work. Sometimes you have to look around a bit. I think the house is 2D but the planning is mostly under 2.1 -

@horsewithnoname made me laugh. I don’t work but it is more than most people earn. I like the arts and crafts stairs but don’t understand why the other spindles are so dull.2
