Do two semis stuck together equal one detached?  I'm not sure...
So they’ve made the effort downstairs to knock out the second kitchen, they’ve carved out a decent size master suite upstairs. The bit that is missing is that you can’t access all the upstairs rooms from one point. They should have made the master bedroom shorter and created a corridor between the two staircases. Would have been cheaper than reversing both the staircases. Instead they’ve done neither.

Whether it is worth more as 2 semis or one detached is an interesting point. I’d still consider it a detached house, but one in an area populated by semis. In value terms, you don’t want to own the most expensive house in a road.

Answering this straighter than I probably should: I would say that if there's a single front door, then yes.

That's one big master bedroom. I hope that (guessedly load-bearing) walls (presumbably) being knocked down was all done following the book.

The downstairs lounge looks huge as well, but the plan seems to suggest there is only the lounge from one house. So, I'm a bit confused about that.

Google maps only has streetview photos back to 2009, and the conversion had already happened by then.

I can't find the planning permission to combine the two semis. Colchester Council has planning permissions for the road back to 1991, but I can't find it. Others may be able to. I did find that they had planning permission to extend a garage.

I don't think I've ever before seen a property marked "REDUCED FOR LIMITED TIME".
I don't get the logic at all. A house isn't an impulse purchase and if it fails to sell at the reduced price what would be the point in putting the price back up?

Once posible scenario I can think of is they are on a limited amount of time on their next purchase and if that falls through they will simply stay put for now.

Creating the impression of time scarcity when none such exists is a common sales technique. I searched with

    site:rightmove.com "REDUCED FOR LIMITED TIME"

    and:

site:rightmove.com "REDUCED FOR A LIMITED TIME"

and found a number of properties with both. Vurve Estates turned up quite a lot, comparatively, and perhaps it is a sales tactic of theirs.

Here's one that has sold, and was reduced for a limited time to enable an onward purchase, as per @Dandie89's scenario.

I'm guessing it worked, though I don't know how long it was on for  'reduced for a limited time'

If that house doesn't feature on 'Homes under the hammer' at some point I'll eat my hat.

Eight hundred and fifty thousand mumble mumble quid.

If it appears on 'Homes Under the Hammer', then a property developer will say that he's completely refurbished the property for £5.75 and a few packets of crisps, and it will set at auction for three million.

I know the area and prices well. I moved only a little further out three years ago.
Yes its usual London mad prices etc but It's already priced at around the top of end of asking prices for already refurbished houses round there
so I think they're trying it on with "offers over" 850k-  You can look up nearby sold prices yourself. plus factor in maybe at least £50-100K to  finish the job,
