That really is an odd room indeed. As well as having a sink and whatever that mini-oven/stove is on, the cupboards look quite high up. I'm not short, and I think I'd need a stepladder to get to them. 



EDIT: Where would the dish-rack go? As well as other things like the fridge/freezer.

Built in a time when all you’d have would be a sink and a stove. No fridge no freezer no washing machine etc. Life used to be very different.

Surely even before modern appliances it was still useful to have somewhere to the stack wet, washed dishes though?

It is nice - I love the Belfast sink, but I did think that room was a downstairs toilet when I saw the photo of just the sink. Is there a back garden at all? 

I don’t like the way you have to walk through the bedroom to the bathroom (by the look of the floor plan).
