Oh my word! I don't think I'd have the nerve to stay there overnight. That's a Steven King short story waiting to happen. What a shame- it really was a beautiful house previously.

I had no option but to use it and buy new saucepans but when we replaced our kitchen, it was the only thing I kept.I love my induction hob and wouldn’t change it to anything else. It’s so easy to keep clean, so simple to use and no risk of burning your fingers and it’s quick too. Yes, you have to have specific pans that you can’t always buy cheaply but I bought a cheap set from Amazon and they’re still going strong although one will need replacing at some point. If we ever move and there isn’t an induction hob in place, it would be one of the first things I’d get if possible.
Snap! We were in exactly the same situation and like you, I couldn't do without my induction hob now.Whereas, having used both, I'd be really reluctant to change from gas.If a house we bought had an electric cooker, I'd seriously consider changing it over to gas, which was exactly what we did with the house we're in.Each to their own, obviously, but I've always found gas to be much more controllable and therefore easier to cook with.0 -
