Sockets on skirting boards either shows it's age  or someone's bodged it more recently. Too low for current regs  and a potential fire hazard.
If sockets on the skirting board warrant an entry in the "have a look at this" thread we'll have half the houses in the country on here.
Old houses with sockets in the skirting board typically have lath and plaster walls full of timber - so not sure how much moving a socket up the wall would reduce the fire risk.
I have sockets on skirting boards in some downstairs rooms. Brick built house from 1930s. No cavity walls, but brick built. Moving them up the wall would have meant a lot of channeling, so they stayed where they were.

Copied this from a "certain" Reddit thread...

Here's a lovely house with immaculately restored oak beams, beautiful gardens, stylish bathroom and kitchen. What could possibly go wrong?

The streetview selected by the agent is an old sewer with a rough sleeper, some firepits and garbage bags. Not even that close to the actual property

How very odd - someone trying to make a point about the 'haves' and the 'have nots'?

Back to the house - I really like that, and it's one of the few properties on these boards that I could move straight in to.  Except for the awful kitchen, which would have to be changed for something more in keeping with the rest of the house.

It is currently an airbnb, so you could stay there right now if you wish.

"plumbing for shower area" according to the description. I would think intended for washing down dogs rather than an open shower.

I think the agent accidentally gave the coordinates of a neighbouring house.  Rightmove I guess picks the nearest streetview image which would usually be the road outside but in this case there's a closer image which is the sewer and the sleeping bag. We can only guess why someone added that photo to Google maps and why they were wandering around in someone's property taking photos.

And the lounge is up in the loft extension. It seems to me that, including the 'shower' in the conservatory, someone has tried to make a too small house bigger as much as possible, and the resulting home is overall a bit strange.

Spot the cat and dog. Big dog - judging by the food and water bowls!

I don’t like surface mounted sockets. And I especially don’t like surface mounted sockets on skirting boards. Our old house had them and not only did we need to get the house retired we had to have the skirting boards replaced because they were trashed. On a brighter not they had loosely run the cables across the front of the skirting boards so you could easily find the wires.
