I can smell the bathroom from here.yellowbear said:1 -
I wonder what people are thinking when they write stuff like that. I see it's right down the cheaper end of what's available in Gillingham, Kent. So, I guess it will be snapped up. Cheaper stuff available all has its own restrictions - that I saw.yellowbear said:

I assume they’re both pitched at BTL, one needs gutting first, the second is someone getting out of BTL the first time they have a void?RHemmings said:

It's disgusting, and there's no such thing. If it's "suitable for bathrooms" then it's impervious and by nature not carpet. I know they market something they call carpet for bathroom. But it's all manky. You'd never get it properly clean from urine and worse. It's third world country stuff.I'm just still doubtful about the use of carpet in bathrooms in the UK. Even though major carpet stores will say which of their carpets are suitable for bathrooms.1 -

I do think it's a bit strange, but I must admit my opinion isn't quite as strong as yoursrobatwork said:

I did once live in a rented flat with carpet in the bathroom. It got damp a bit with bathwater occasionally, but I'm fairly sure I kept the urine in the toilet and not in the carpet. 2 -
In this instance the carpet is not around the toilet. Carpet is not something I would normally consider but given there are steps to be negotiated that probably benefit from something a bit more grippy I think it probably is a good solution here. I think it does look rather nice too and it appears to be a big airy room and no dampness issues are apparent so I probably would live with it unless proven wrong on that..robatwork said:

I am getting on a bit, but I didn't want carpet in bathrooms even when I was much younger. There is always the option of sitting down, which is an insurance strategy.robatwork said:

EDIT:
Can anyone spot anything special about the following house. This is from an estate nearby to me, and in fact I lived in a rented house in this estate. The houses don't look very impressive for me, but they seem to sell for a lot of money. At least, asking prices are high.
I just can't see anything special about these houses, and think that the one I bought is better for a lot less money than this. And, even the bigger ones around my way are typically cheaper than this.
Is there anything special here? I feel a little bit like the boy who called out the Emperor's new clothes.
Note: For £300k around here I would expect something with a bit extra. Not a generic 3 bed semi.

I found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/146989493
Amazing building. Some of the styling choices are a little eclectic for my taste.5
